I am really impressed with the way the Captain and crew of the Golden Princess responded to constantly-changing circumstances while we were on our New Zealand cruise. Our captain kept us up-to-date as much as he could with regular, friendly, well-explained announcements whenever new news or regulations came in. Although plans seemed to change daily, the focus was always on the well-being, comfort and enjoyment of the passengers. It must have been difficult for the crew because they had even less certainty about their destiny than the passengers, but they were amazing. They responded to ever-changing circumstances. For example, when we anchored at Akaroa, and eventually found out that we couldn’t disembark, they put on a splendid 3-course lunch at a moment’s notice. Their workload would have increased significantly without passengers disembarking but they continued to provide excellent service with smiles on their faces and did everything they could to ensure guests were taken care of. Victor, our cruise director, responded by adding extra activities throughout the ship to keep the entertainment up. I was surprised at how quickly daily activities sheets and other important information was revised, printed and delivered to our rooms. Although the cruise didn’t go as planned, I had an excellent time and don’t regret going, even though I am in self-isolation now. I cannot fault the way the Captain and staff responded to this difficult situation, and I would definitely go on a Princess Cruise again if I get the opportunity. Read Less

We cannot praise the Captain and staff of the Golden Princess enough! We have just returned from a 13 day cruise to New Zealand that was cut short by 4 days because of the current global crisis. During this uncertain time we were kept up to date at all times as the situation developed and were treated with the utmost respect. The food onboard was incredible and nothing was too much trouble for our waiters Edzel and Michaell in the dining room. There were many varied activities to choose from and we had lots of laughs participating. The staff were fastidious with hygiene, regularly wiping surfaces after use. Although we were disappointed that we only set foot on land for 1 day due to port restrictions we still had a very relaxing holiday on this lovely ship. A big thank you from my husband and I. We will definitely sail with Princess again sometime in the future. Read Less

We choose this cruise for the itinerary, we had done the first week several times but except for Cayman Islands we were looking forward to all the other ports and had several excursions booked with Princess. We arrived from Europe Madrid Spain in Miami on March 5th at 21.30 we took the shuttle from the hotel and that’s was the first disappointing thing in reception people that should still be at school. This was the Sleep Inn Miami airport, We didn’t sleep all night because of the AC making more noise than the airplanes. Next morning breakfast the worst ever in America it was free but if you going to do bad don’t do anything. We had to go and have breakfast in a nearby restaurant. After another bad night we were happy to leave for Fort Lauderdale. Once on the pier it was leave our suitcases ok then join standing in a queue for over an hour. Embarkation couldn’t have been worst. But finally the luck changed. Our cabin balcony on Emerald deck was absolutely beautiful and clean. Our cabin attender one of the best we ever had clean and you only had to tell her once what your preferences were. Also she was not intrusive. The food was excellent buffet and MDR . We where really sad that we had to abandon ship after one week but health goes first. At first Princess didn’t seem to be up to the job, we found out about our cruise been canceled on TV . But once they got a grip on it they did a very good job and we will book with Princess as soon they are back in business. Outstanding the people at the client attention desk the manager did all he could for us. The day of disembarkation European and people that had been in Europe in the last 14 days where treated differently to others but. The assistante hotel manager a lady of the name of Kara from South Africa managed to put smiles back on our faces. The same cannot be said from the Hotel Manager he was totally out of it and even rude. Read Less

I chose this cruise last Fall because of the ports, length of time in port, and the sailing date. I had sailed on the Crown Princess in 2019 and was happy with that experience. By the time we sailed much had changed. The Coronavirus was escalating slowly when we left Port Everglades so our major change was skipping Princess Cays and a revision to our itinerary. As far as the crew and fellow passengers knew all guests remained healthy throughout the trip. We entered every port and enjoyed all that a cruise has to offer. Enhanced cleaning and precautions caused me to feel safe. As we got toward the end of the cruise many of us were worried about the world we faced upon disembarkation. We were able to relax and enjoy our 10 day cruise while vacationing. The ports were varied and lovely. We met some incredibly nice people from the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom and Canada. We enjoyed the comedy shows. Both comedians were great and provided conversation starters at dinner. The weather was perfect for 8 of the 10 days. Read Less

The ship is going to be refurbished soon, and a lot of the wooden surfaces need refinishing, and this is an older ship than others, but we had a wonderful cruise on Crown Princess. The crew was wonderful. The Cruise Director did just the right amount of talking/not talking. The Cruise Director's staff put on a wonderful game show called Hollywood Hiccups that was the funniest and best I've ever seen. Ocean Medallion made it easy to locate all of our friends and join them at any time for lots of fun. One of the two big generators had a problem, and we couldn't go fast enough to get to Princess Cays, so we skipped and got an onboard credit. That's our favorite port, and we were disappointed, but the rest of the cruise was wonderful. That generate should be fixed when the ship goes for refurbishment. They were sanitizing handrails, tables, etc. all the time. They sprayed pool loungers every night with sanitizer. We felt safe amidst the virus pandemic. The food was excellent, the entertainment was excellent, and we had a great time with our friends. Read Less

The on board experience for my first cruise was great. After talking to seasoned cruisers on board, I found that most preferred Princess Cruise's larger staterooms and variety of activities to those they had experienced on other cruiselines. Our ship was not allowed to dock at the end of our cruise until 2 crew members were tested for the Coronavirus. This meant a whole extra day at sea but the crew kept us entertained and well looked after during this crucial nerve-wracking time. It all ended well and we actually came out of it with an extra day and night onboard enjoying the great food, entertainment and service. I took full advantage of the dining facilities included and the Medallion we wore was convenient for all extra costs. We prepaid gratuities which was a nice option. I enjoyed the fitness track every morning before indulging in the massive buffet breakfast offerings. The main show every evening was so professional and just the right length. The art auction, backstage tour, dance lessons, quiz and trivia games were all great fun. A family member was celebrating a birthday onboard and was quite pleased with the extra attention from the crew. I did not take part in any excursions as it was my first cruise so I was happy just exploring the townsites close to the ship. Overall, it was a great experience. Read Less

We love Princess cruises and especially the Regal. Her crew is fantastic. The crew must be the reason we go back to the Regal. Our latest cruise on the Regal was to St Thomas and St Marten. We have taken this cruise previously and just enjoy being on this ship. We cruise with family and usually book a balcony cabin. On this past cruise, the Regal was not allowed to dock back in Fort Lauderdale due to two crew members who had been on the Grand Princess. These cruise members could have been tested Sunday (March 1) while we were in Fort Lauderdale, but the CDC did not make up their minds until March 8. The Captain kept us informed throughout the day as to the progress of our disembarkation. From the time the Captain first let us know (before 6 am) until we were able to disembark (10pm), the exceptional crew went into overdrive. The crew was obviously well versed in what to do in a situation like this. Some of the precautions were removing the salt and pepper and sugar from the tables. The crew came around and dispensed them as required. They also not only wiped down the tables when quests left, but wiped the chairs as well. Despite their lack of sleep, to a person, they were smiling - all day - and doing their very best to make us comfortable and at ease. Princess takes care of her passengers in a way that would be hard pressed to duplicate. Kudos to Princess. Cannot wait to cruise again with them. Read Less

We only cruise Princess since our first Alaskan trip. We took all 4 of our kids on that one and highly recommend people bring their kids and use the kids clubs. This one was just me and my partner for a quick break. We were only doing the first 7 days - Eastern CARIBBEAN! Despite all the health fears this year, with the information we had at the time, we felt safe to travel at the end of Feb as planned. There were extra precautions throughout or trip and a 16 hour delay disembarking for checks at the end of this cruise. Despite this, the staff were as professional, friendly and patient as ever. Problems can happen with any service provider at any time for many reasons, we are all human after all. For me, it’s not about whether a problem happens but how the problem is handled and risks mitigated for the future. Those extraordinary events aside, the cruise was perfect, literally my only complaint is too much food to finish the exquisite dessert at Sabitini’s. We booked the Sanctuary bungalow at Princess Cays and ordered the upgraded lunch. Highly recommend! Shore fishing was great. Villa botanica excursion was good, their patio daiquiris were Devine. We plan to do it again, with the kids this time next year. If you arrive a few days ahead of your cruise, try a sport fishing charter in Fort Lauderdale with Tacohookedup.com. We also stayed at the Hilton Marina, which was minutes from fishing and the cruise port. Read Less

Had the time of my life. Medallion experience was fantastic. Embarkation was ultra smooth. Took us merely 1 hr 45 mins from reaching the port ( our taxi ride from Miami to FLL port was twice as more inconvenient) to get settled in our cabin. Disembarking was a big hassle but the situation was truly unusual, even for the crew, so understandable. The variety and quality of food was absolutely delicious, more so in buffet areas than MDR. We had taken the "pamper me" onboard package. It was well worth the high price. The directors, crew and service staff were friendly enough. Entertainment was not at all bad either. The snorkeling excursion ( shipwreck and turtle cove) was one of my best experiences. Internet was a bit sketchy on board at times. Overall a great experience. Will definitely cruise with Regal again. Waiting for cruising to get safer, then we plan to do Alaska with Princess cruises. Read Less

There was a glitch getting on the ship, which caused us to not start off the best, we waited in line outside the ship for hours & were never told why we were not allowed to board, and then once inside, more long lines- we heard it was a computer problem. Once we were onboard, they gave us temporary room cards, which meant we had to find the room steward every time we wanted to get into our room, finally received our keys at 9:00 that night. But, from then on Princess did not disappoint! Entertainment was good, especially two of the singers and the ventriloquist, Michael was terrific! One of the most entertaining shows was put on by the Master Chef and Maitre D- so funny and two of their staff sang and they were fantastic! Our waiter in the Botticelli dining room was Yulia and her assistant, Daniel and they were EXCELLENT! Always had a smile and went above and beyond to make our dining experience the best! We also tried the specialty restaurants, Crown Grill was excellent and Crave was also very good! Our balcony room was very nice, closet space was plentiful. Our room steward, Savio was really good and anticipated what we needed without even asking. my husband has a C-Pap machine and Savio got us a bottle of distilled water without us ever Mentioning it. Aaron, the Cruise Director was hilarious and his staff were so great, we enjoyed most of the activities. We also enjoyed the Escape Room, which you have to sign up for, there is a small charge-$8.00. In light of all that was going on in the world with the virus, we enjoyed our time on Emerald Princess! Read Less

I’ve always wanted to sail to the Panama Canal. What a great trip this was. Despite the worlds fears of the corona virus our crew selflessly cared for our needs, making sure the trip was a success. Even though we did not get to go through the old Locke as planned due to the Panamanian government not giving us access until to late we were still able to go through the new lockes and enjoy them from our balcony. Our room steward kept the windows of the balcony so clean our view was spectacular. Princess crew went out of their way to make the cruise exactly what I had hoped for despite extra requirements being added on to them. The sunsets and sunrises were so beautiful. The food so delicious, not one disappointment. The ventriloquist was way to good, singing for his dummies. The sax player was amazing, loved the whole show. Thank you Emerald Princess Captain and crew. Job well done. Looking forward to cruising again with you. Read Less

After sailing to Alaska on Princess with family and friends for our 50th we knew we would sail with Princess again. We've wanted to go through the Panama Canal and one 6 of us found we could during the first two weeks of March we jumped at the chance. A computer glitch messed with what we know to be a generally efficient check in. Though, conditions were less than ideal, I applaud the individual who made the decision to move us from standing outside in the sun to an inside seating area that was air conditioned. We thoroughly enjoyed our balcony stateroom and assigned steward, Rommel. Both were superb. We enjoyed eating at the Michelangelo where our server, Sebastion, always brought a smile, cheer, and great food. Eating at DaVinci with our server, Lucio, was also a delight. Shall always remember one of his jokes!! Special treats were eating at Crown and SHARE by Curtis. The food in each location was excellent; however, the portions at the SHARE were simply too large! Never thought I'd say that! The entire cruise staff was wonderful. Even after Princess announced that it would be suspending cruising for 60 days, and with the staff uncertainty of what lay before them, they maintained a professional, courteous, and cheerful presence among us. For sure, for that composure alone, Princess can be proud of how its staff serves the needs of its guests and of the company. Princess, we'll be back, and soon we hope! Read Less

We chose this cruise for the itinerary and for our past experiences on the Emerald Princess. We love the live music and entertainment on the Emerald Princess. Princess Cruises are our favorite. We had a hiccup during embarkation, but that was put aside as the cruise got underway. I enjoyed the ports, but to be honest our best time was had on the ship. A little disappointed we were not allowed to get off in Columbia, but understandable considering the world conditions. The cruise staff was awesome at keeping us safe and healthy. The ship was in a continuous state of disinfection and I loved that the staff in the Worldplace Market began serving the buffet about halfway through the cruise. Extra work for them, but a bonus for us to help keep us healthy. We maintained a healthy ship and with all of the challenges in the cruise world I would not hesitate and look forward to cruising again. Read Less

After 20 plus cruises with various companies, Princess is still a favorite. First time on Royal Princess. Ship was beautiful and spacious, no lineups for any venue or dining. Sabatini's speciality restaurant was a romantic setting for two to enjoy an anniversary. The menu selection and food presentation was memorable. Alfredo's pizza was so great, we enjoyed several times. Make sure you try one of their signature pasta dishes. International cafe in piazza had delights all day and night. Best donuts ever! Main dining room had a different food theme nightly. Make sure you check the menu in advance to plan ahead for your evening meal. You may want to order 4 or 5 courses! The adult retreat pool area was our favortie hangout. Great place to relax and read, and enjoy a drink. Our balcony room was well laid out with sofa and table, mini fridge, blow dryer, great lighting and spacious closet. Even the shower seemed a little roomer, with a nice ledge for ladies to shave their legs! Room was super clean and our room steward was great. All staff we encountered were friendly and professional. Crazy world out there but on our cruise we were treated like princesses! With the new medallions, all the crew knew our names and who we belonged with. And we could find each other, generally. Embarking and disembarking was so easy with doing all the paper work before getting to the ship and having the medallions on. They say there were over 3000 passengers but we didn't see them! Except for the excellent shows shows in the Princess Theater, we never saw a crowd! I don't know where they all were. Lots of space to be quiet. Very few children. Lots of entertainment all day& evening. All the helpers at the Medallion desk were knowledgeable and friendly, didn't make us feel like we were asking silly questions! And they were all entertainers. Morning specialty coffee at the horizon buffet made by Adrian was so special and perfect every cup! Delightful and happy every early morning till late. Dinners in the Concerto Dining room with Danilo, tho he thought he was "Bond, James Bond!" and Ronald was just formal enough. We enjoyed stretching with Tai chi &Zumba. And Bingo with Fortuna Luck was a hoot! As well as all the trivia games. With all that said, we care about all the crew on the Royal Princess, wish them and their family's well. On this cruise it was entirely different. Food was varied and hot in the buffet. Service in the buffet and dining rooms was excellent. Crown Grill met and exceeded its standards. Pizza in Alfredos was hot and tasty. Breakfast at Sabatinis continues to be awesome. Cruise staff was of highest quality and service. Our aft suite was beautiful and Melanie, our cabin steward was awesome. Nothing like sitting on the rear balcony with a drink and watching the sea go by. Embarkation was quick and debarkation was the most efficient ever as Port Everglades had instituted a new system whereby we quickly posed for picture and exited. I have sailed princess twice before, did not have a good experience on ruby princess I must add, but this cruise was amazing. The cleanliness, staff, and food was awesome. We travelled to the western Caribbean and Mexico this trip, and have never been catered to in such a amazing way. I can’t say enough about the crew. They were always ready when needed. This was our first medallion cruise. At first I thought it sounded gimmicky....but found myself using it for everything from locating people I knew, to ordering from anywhere/anytime, and having it delivered anywhere I was at the time. We had no problems whatsoever, and made it home just before corona virus hit. Would I do it again? As soon as we finish with covid19, I’ll be booking another cruise on this boat ASAP. Since all our information was on the medallion, we could go to the beach without having to worry about keeping our passports safe. It was a positive addition to the trip. They also staggered when everyone got aboard, so there was no massive lineups like in the past in Fort Lauderdale....we just showed up and boarded...,it was a nice change. Read Less

We've cruised with Princess before and four other cruise lines. We have Princess as our vacation of choice. We actually have done this cruise before on the Grand Princess. And, will be sailing on the Star Princess at least three more times before she is reassigned later this year. When living in France and Singapore we went with local cruise lines, but they didn't compare to Princess in terms of Ship accommodations, itinerary, food or staff services. We selected a cabin with an unobstructed view. We have made this cruise before on the Grand Princess, and going this early in spring, across the Pacific Ocean, at 20+ knots or 23 miles per hour, you don't really sit out on your balcony for very long. Once you are in the islands and the warmer climate, a balcony is very worth while. But, we had chosen extensive shore excursions, so we wouldn't be sitting of a balcony anyway. We lived in Hawaii for about a year back in 2008 so we already know much of the history and culture. But, Dr. Anne, the naturalist's talks about culture, history, fish and animals and details about each island were excellent, and we learned even more. Tikki Dave and his wife are wonderful entertainers, trainers [hula and ukulalee] as well as making nut necklesses. Great fun, but mostly they provided hours of entertainment. Other entertainers, the commedians, impersonators, singers and the production shows were supurb. Overall, the Star Princess is feeling her age, will be getting a spruce up this summer, but she is still a wonderful experience with a wonderful crew. Great food in the Princess fashion of excellence and we're already booked 3 more cruises on her because she still shines in the Princess tradition which is as good as it gets on the seas. Hope to see some of you in March-April and again in September aboard the Star Princess, you won't be disappointed. Read Less

The accommodations on excursions made the overall experience very memorable. The embarkation and disembarkation process was very smooth. The dining experience was one of the highlights of the cruise. Great food but even greater service by the staff. Overall, I would recommend the Hawaii cruise to others. The dining experience, the entertainment onboard, and the shore excursions could not have been better. Not sure what I expected before the cruise but think the Star Princess far exceeded anything I could have hoped for. This is a bucket list cruise. The days at sea were full of entertainment and activities. The shore days provided wonderful excursions or time to just get out and explore. The staff onboard were friendly and helpful. The food in the dining rooms provided a great selection and delicious dining. This is a MUST travel if you wish to explore Hawaii. Read Less

I chose this cruise for the itinerary. I was pleasantly surprised that only one of five ports had other ships in port, so the ports were not overcrowded. The ship's crew was warm, welcoming, and performed like a well-oiled machine. They were entertaining, caring, and made us feel special. We sailed in Club Class, which was stellar. The service was superb, the food was excellent, and we never had to wait in line to be seated. The Land Sailing excursion in Bonaire was my favorite. Donna and her staff thoroughly explained how to sail in the Blocart. Everything Donna described was spot-on through the experience. It was easy to learn, and my face hurt from smiling through the whole experience. This experience is something special: small group, off the beaten path, and when you're sailing, you cannot think about anything else while you're sailing, so it's like meditation - good for you! I also loved the St. John Champagne Catamaran Sail excursion - the crew was superb, extremely attentive, and fun. This was our 21st Princess Cruise, and I loved every part of it! Princess always makes me feel like, well, a princess. I feel like a VIP. Well cared for, special, and comfortable. On this particular cruise, I was able to forget about everything at home, work, and the news. I highly recommend Crown Princess, this itinerary, and make sure you take some stellar excursions! Once again, Princess turned on an excellent cruise with unsurpassed service & food. We boarded in Sydney effortlessly - I walk with a cane so was given priority at check-in which was very thoughtful and appreciated. We had a balcony stateroom for this cruise around New Zealand and it was wonderful to view the exquisite scenery, particularly in Fiordland, from that balcony. All staff, without exception, were friendly and went out of their way to make this cruise as enjoyable as possible. We dined in the restaurant on all evenings, using 'anytime dining' and enjoyed beautiful food and fabulous table service. The longest time we had to wait for a table was less than 5 minutes. Our bed in the stateroom was very comfy and we had very little trouble sleeping. Movies, freely available, in our stateroom were a bonus with some of the latest movies available. MedallionClass was a bonus and enjoyed being able to order a coffee etc. from anywhere on the ship and have it delivered. The ship itself was well maintained with staff constantly cleaning (due in part to Corona Virus) and the strict insistence that all passengers kept their hands clean with hand sanitisers everywhere. We went ashore at all ports but didn't take up any excursions as we had been there before and spent most of our shore-visits catching up with family members. On two evenings we enjoyed live music and a comedian who had us all laughing out loud! Another fabulous Princess cruise..thank you. Read Less

Love the little cooling pool at the rear of the ship, even although it is close to the smoking area. Sometimes the bar staff are a bit slow serving tables.
