I read a lot of negative reviews on the Diamond Princess recently, so I went into this cruise with managed expectations. That being said, I had an amazing cruise with very little criticism.
This was a 7-night Mexican Riviera cruise to Loreto, La Paz and Cabo San Lucas. Our Loreto port was canceled due to high winds, so we rerouted to Mazatlán for our first stop.

I just got off a 7 day Caribbean cruise on the Ruby Princess out of Galveston. My adult son and I had an absolutely wonderful time. It was our first time on Princess. I bid on an upgrade from a Club Class Mini Suite to a Premium Suite and was upgraded to a Penthouse! You can imagine how thrilled we were. Embarkation was seamless. We were in our cabin by 1:00 p.m.

Our group, seven in all. took this cruise to the Caribbean on Princess. Two of our group were first time cruisers, the other five had cruised before. We had a great experience on the cruise. For background my wife and I have been on 19 cruises (127 nights) two previously with Princess. We always have a good time when cruising and may select the new Sun Princess after the launch bugs are worked out. Stayed in an inside cabin B240 and we have only done inside once before. Quiet but sure missed the balcony and ocean view.

Crowded public spaces even during port days. Had to wait in line to enter dining rooms for dinner, even with a reservation. Mini-suite cabin was very nice. Room steward was very helpful.
