Anytime Dining Service Uneven

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Ruby Princess

This is the first cruise we were designated for anytime dining as we were on a long wait list for traditional seating we have always had previously. We found it very difficult to get seated early as the reservation line was busy early and if you didn't get through by 8:30 a.m. the reservations were full. It was necessary to get in line by 4:30 p.m. to be seated in the first group at Michangelo, ...

I wanted to get away after a long nasty winter. The price was right and the destination was easy and desirable. Embarkation was super easy. You can tell the ship is a little older but looked very good for her age. Our cabin was clean and the beds were very very comfortable. Slept like a baby. Can't say enough good things about our steward, Ruel. We enjoyed the anytime dining with some of ...

What a disappointment!

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Ruby Princess

Compared to other cruise lines we have sailed with, Princess provided inferior service, inferior value for our dollar and an overall disappointing experience! While the embarkation and disembarkation were excellent, everything in between left something to be desired. The crew, as a whole, were not very welcoming, friendly or kind. It wasn't until the third day at sea that the servers smiled. On ...

Good Itinerary, Weirdly Built Ship

California coastal has great ports to visit. We spent 3 days prior to the cruise in San Francisco. Last time we were in SF was 25 years ago. Not as nice as we remembered but plenty to see and do. Embarkation was fine. Best disembarkation ever. Off the ship in minutes and customs was quick. San Diego and Coronado Island was our favorite port. We did the HOHO bus but did not ...

First time and last time on Princess!

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Majestic Princess

First off as disclaimers: This was a last minute long weekend and was very cheap. We both realised that not everything would be up and running and that TAs would be on board. We have done nearly 30 cruises in last 9 years so not newbies. First time with Princess though. Positives: Ship nice externally. Internal décor not to my taste but ok. Staff were very nice and friendly but as ...

Sydney to New Zealand East Coast

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Emerald Princess

For us to go to Sydney Austrailia and sail New Zeland was a trip of a life time.  We went 1/2 way around the world.   While Princess has no control over who sails with them there is a demographic of people who make the cruise uncomfortable.  They push and shove and cut in line and just generally misbehave in relation to western standards of behavior.  And it is not just Australia where you find ...

Majestic Maiden Preview Cruise - Trieste is best!

We have sailed on Princess 7 out of a total of 9 cruises and were excited to be amongst the first to try the brand new Majestic Princess, aware that it had been designed for the Chinese market. Embarkation from Trieste was a dream – we were staying in the hotel across from the port so we just crossed the road and then it took 20 minutes to board. The sailaway was fantastic with the ship's horns ...

We have been on 66 different cruise ships. Most once, some twice and some three or more times. We realize all would not be as we expected, knowing it was still being finished as we sailed out of Trieste Italy, but expected, at least Princess, to be ready to be enjoyed. While the new ship smell was evident, that is about all we enjoyed. Our suite was very comfortable, as we were doing a back ...

A new high mark for Princess, wonderful time

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Majestic Princess

I really don’t understand the number of negative reviews at all, on a sparkling brand new ship with a memorable sail-away to match. Our trip was fantastic. We’re Ruby on Princess but I can’t imagine that made much difference in the great way we were treated (really doesn’t take much to get Ruby status). Here’s our story. On March 31 my wife and I happen to celebrate the same birthday so with ...

Apologies for the delay in writing this review. We cruised as a family of 4, myself and husband, mid 40s and two children, an 11yo and 15yo. We chose and booked this cruise about 1.5 years before sailing, as we found a fantastic deal with good OBC. It was our 2nd cruise, and first with Princess Cruises. Our first was with Royal Caribbean. We chose Princess as we just wanted to compare and ...
