Just returning from 7 nights Carib cruise. Embarkation was smooth, luggage arrived within a few hours. Our room steward JAMES WAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST WE HAVE EVER HAD ON ANY CRUISE!! Our first stop at Princess Cay was a nightmare. Only one place to purchase clam shells - woman was rude - told us after we paid that we had to look for a "guy in a red shirt to unlock the clamshell and set it up". There were alot of red shirts, but we soon found out that there was only ONE GUY AND ONE KEY AND THEY SOLD OVER 50 CLAMSHELLS!! We spent 45 minutes waiting for help. The BBQ was ok but again with people reaching into food with their hands and NO ONE stopping them. The food on ship was mediocre at best. Food on MDR on getaway day was tasteless - chicken was overcooked, all dark meat, guest next to us said hamburger was overcooked and tough. Buffet was mismanaged - no one watching people reaching into food with hands, not enforcing hand washing as u enter any dining area; hot foods ?? like sliced turkey, bacon wrapped meatloaf, french fries were cold - fries at Salty Dog were 100 times better. Empty serving bowls on buffet not replenished - just left there for guests to ask if there was more; Alfredo's is suppose to be the best pizza on a cruise ship - dont let a New Yorker eat there then! Crust was perfect but toppings were just average - cheese and sauce - not memorable. Specialty restaurants were not impressive - Spagatinis was very run of the mill tasting food, nice presentation but no stand out flavors. Crown Grill was ok - 22 oz porterhouse had a decent strip but very VERY small filet. Alot of fat on strip- decent flavor. Never been on a cruise that limits you to one entree or pay for additionals - previous cruises always let u choose extra entrees without cost - might understand if i wanted to have 6 lobster tails, but not a regular entree! Medallion App was a nightmare - 4 times we asked for asst from guest services and internet cafe - worked until we walked away then nothing! Never got our free drink that was to be ordered thru app and delivered to us! Excursions desk was ridiculous - they could not answer even the simplest questions - shouldnt they know more about what they are selling??? Tendering to St Maarten was good - cruise director kept everyone in good spirits while waiting. Celebrity Theatre is ridiculous - 2500 plus people on board and theatre holds 600 comfortable - told u have to line up 60 minutes before show and even thats not a guarantee!! In the dailys, they talk about "CHAIR HOGS "- people who grab a bunch of chairs early in the am and then sometimes dont show up to use them until much later - Sky says they monitor them and will remove the unattended belongings - NEVER, EVER SEEN THAT DONE. Alot of us want to enjoy a chair in the sun but not at the expense of setting your alarm for 6am to secure one. If you are going to post it, ENFORCE IT!! Overall, Sky is a nice ship but needs a lot of attention to things that matter most to the guests. Oh, and after hearing the opening to LOVE BOAT 1000 times, it gets old! Cute once or twice but not every port - arriving and leaving and then 4 times when leaving St Maarten. And one last, BUT VERY IMPORTANT thing, where are the female officers??? Need more Captain Kates from Celebrity!!! Read Less

We had a great time last year on the Caribbean Princess, but not this time on Sky Princess. The embark/disembarkation was easy, the Medallion worked fine to get in and out of the room and buy drinks (all we used it for). Very nice basic balcony room, clean, nice and brightly lit bathroom. Polite staff. BUT, the crowds of people made a big difference this time. We knew we had to get to the theater early (45 min to 1 hour for production shows), but we did not expect to be shut out of most other evening events in Princess Live or the piazza on 5. If you went to the 8pm theater show, then you were unable to get seats for 9pm events elsewhere. This was the first time we ever ended up watching movies in our room at night. We really enjoyed Mike Misko the magician/comedian. He was the best entertainment and it was great that he had 2 shows. The buffet on sea days was a madhouse at breakfast time and lunch. Yes, it is huge...but it could take 5-10 minutes to wander around to find a seat even for 2. As many others have said, bland food barely warm. Very good omelets. Not enough sinks, and poor compliance with hand washing. The deck chair situation remains awful, not a chair available at 9am even on a cloudy day! Finally got 2 chairs at 2pm. With chairs at a premium - no one should be using the nice padded chairs for footrests!! There was rarely a spot to sit if you got pizza or a burger at poolside. I also think it is strange that Princess uses the passengers to provide entertainment in the piazza area. All dance and Zumba classes are smack dab in the center of the piazza, with all the surrounding chairs filled with guests watching the classes. I am too self concious to Zumba around with hundreds of strangers watching, but I would have taken classes if they were in a lounge or the gym. The MDR was fine, the service was so fast that you could not have a leisurely meal. All the beef dishes were delicious, most other options were beautiful but boring. Just no flavor. Enjoyed Alfredo's atmosphere, the calzone was good and piping hot!! That said, we spoke with people who had been on the ship for 3 weeks in a row and they were happy. Next time I will choose a smaller ship, or one with fewer sea days. Coastal Cay Cruise - overpriced and boring. Vessel too noisy to hear what guide said. Under Two Flags Tour - very good with great guide, Dennis. Lasts longer than 2 hours due to traffic, so be prepared if you book another tour after this one. Lagoon Kayak - very strenous kayaking in a busy waterway with massive yachts. Not "serene and leisurely" as describe. Nice guides. Read Less

This was our 15th Princess cruise and it didn't disappoint. Starting with the very personable Captain. We went for my husband's birthday and Cory, the cruise director did everything to make my husband feel special. He did an amazing job as cruise director, upbeat, friendly, interactive and very funny. The "Rock Opera" production was the best we had ever seen in all our cruising years, thats not to say that the rest of the entertainment was just as great Mind blowing magician, funny comedian, 5 Skies needs to reorganize the stage set so everyone on the sides of the theater can see it as well, Take 5(Jazz Trio), and Static, the party band(one of the biggest treats onboard this ship). So much to do and it was hard to pick and chose, needed another week to take part in it all. Our steward, Arnel was unbelievably efficient and truly wonderful at every aspect of maintaining everything in our cabin(E612). Plenty of storage, balcony a bit small but acceptable. On to dining- choices and food were excellent. We had a phenomenal waiter(Garnett) and his assistant(Angelo)-for people who have cruised a lot; they are the good old waiters we had years ago, when every waiter aimed to do everything in their power to please you!! Medallion.Net is an innovative, helpful and perfect tool to help navigate everything from boarding to ordering drinks and finding friends any where onboard Great job by all, hoping this excellence continues way after the inaugural sailing of the beautiful Sky Princess. Can't wait until I can go again!! Read Less

Received credit from a prior cruise to use. We picked Sky as she is new. Pros- Crew is wonderful. Very friendly and hard working. Entertainment is the best I have seen on a ship. Includes Production shows, movies, comedians, magician, musicians and Award winning singer from Americas Got Talent Brian Justin Crum. Ship is big, new and very clean. Big private island to visit (Princess Cay on Eleuthera) Fastest boarding and embarkation I have experienced. Numerous bars and special events with crew. Our granddaughter enjoyed the camp and ice cream. Cons- Fair. Best meal by far was Sabbatini. French Restaurant was so bad we walked out and went to the buffet. People permitted to reserve chairs on sea days. Management should be out controlling this. All deck chairs need to be placed out for passengers. I observed stacks of lounges. Liquor is expensive. Bring your own. We booked Rm S204 on Deck 17, Forward. A mistake. The first night was rough weather and you felt every wave. In addition, the room creaked (door, ceiling, furniture). Could not sleep. At 1:30am maintenance came to try to fix and finally we obtained a new room at 3am. The room should not have passed a shakedown cruise. They did give us a credit to use on another cruise. Read Less

My partner wanted to sail under the Golden Gate Bridge one last time so he convinced me it would be great for both of us. I had expected to have sunny days with a little bump here and there but that is not what happened. No sun, cold wind and all kinds of sea bumps. I enjoyed the food in the buffet and the dining room but my partner did not. Our cabin seemed smaller than usual for a balcony cabin but the mattress on the bed was heavenly. Could have spent the entire cruise on that mattress. We did 2 shore excursions with 1 in Kauai which was cooler than I expected and the other one in Hilo which I knew would be cold. However besides being cold it started raining and became very windy. Both of us ended up with a cold. On Maui and Honolulu we shopped since both of us had previously been there. The weather for these two islands was perfect and warm. When the call came that we were to be confined to our cabins, we just enjoyed our balcony more than ever. Read Less

This was our first Princess cruise, so we truly didn't know what to expect other than what we had read and what Princess is known for. Embarkation was a breeze even if we were required to fill out a medical questionnaire stating our exposure, or lack of exposure, to Covid-19. No temperature check or screening of any kind. Once onboard, we found evidence of what all the previous reviews had mentioned. This is an older ship and shows it with rust in many areas, disabled elevators, etc. Even with these shortcomings we were still quite excited to begin our 25th wedding anniversary cruise. The first noticeable observation was that this cruise was populated with older adults. The largest age group represented was the 70+ group. Many walkers, canes and electric scooters. Since this itinerary was 15 days and right in the middle of the school year, we didn't expect to see many young people, but we weren't truly prepared for this demographic. All that said, we had a great time. Our dining room staff was top notch, the Broadway-type shows were very good and the magician/comedian(Christopher James) was hysterical! There were several activities during the many sea days and the food was quite good. We paid the up-charge for the Crown Grill steakhouse and felt it was money well spent. Sadly, everything changed on the 12th day. We were informed that a passenger on the previous cruise has contracted the Coronavirus and, regardless of usual cleaning practices, we were now considered exposed to the virus. We were allowed to dine for our lunch meal after which we would be confined to our rooms. Masks were issued and social distancing was encouraged for lunch, but instead most folks treated it as if this would be the last meal they would receive. Taking as much food as they could carry to their rooms. While confined to our rooms, Princess did an amazing job of keeping us fed, amused and informed. The captain would make frequent announcements and we had meals and activities delivered to our rooms. Our stewards would place a tray/container at our door, knock and then stand a safe distance away. We had booked a balcony, so access to fresh air and sunshine was immediate. The folks in inside staterooms were allowed to walk the upper decks, in small groups, on a controlled schedule . Princess also gave everyone free wi-fi and added new content to the "on demand" TV viewing options. Our last port, Ensenada, was eliminated so we could head directly back to San Francisco. We floated in limbo for a couple days until Oakland graciously accepted us. We didn't realize how good we had it until we were placed in the hands of US authorities. Princess did everything right with the information and supplies/services they were provided. The generosity of Princess was exemplary. I have nothing but good things to say about how our crew, and the Princess team, dealt with our constantly evolving situation. Read Less

We chose this cruise for the opportunity to see several landscape/wildlife areas of south america that we have always wanted to see. Tores del Paine National Park in Patagonia Chile was our primary reason for this cruise. We have cruised with Princess on four previous occasions- Panama Canal, Alaska, Caribbean and Rome to Athens. We have only had minor problems with Princess and thus the reason for choosing Princess for our South American adventure.. Unfortunately, this cruise with Princess was a huge disappointment because of numerous problems with shore excursions as well as repeated misleading or false information given to us by multiple Customer relations representatives and 800 Princess operators. The food, cabin service and entertainment were very good to excellent. Our cabin steward Frango was the best we have had in all of our cruising days. Our mattress was totally worn out with a large sag in the middle. The first night was terrible due to the mattress but then Frango figured out how to reinforce the middle so that we could sleep. As stated earlier, Tores del Paine national park in Patagonia chile was the main reason for choosing this trip. However, after we had a confirmed and paid reservation, Princess cancelled the excursion without explanation and then reinstated the excursion without 9 booked and confirmed passengers including my wife and I. We certainly would understand a weather or safety related cancellation but that was not the problem. We heard 6 different reasons for cancelling, none of which were true. The trip is over and we never did get the truth. We were offered $100.00 on board credit for our troubles which as an insult for all of the hours spent trying to resolve the problem. We also had problems with two more shore excursions partly due to weather but mostly due to lack of planning and organization on the part of Princess. We ended up changing the last four days of our South American trip and buying flight tickets from Santiago, Chile to Puerto Natales, Chile in order to see the national park that mysteriously was cancelled by Princess. This all happened two days before we left the US and at considerable added cost to us. One final note- I sent two letters via email to Jan Swarz- Princess CEO about our problems but they were intercepted by Princess Customer Relations as they have " authority to respond to all messages sent to the CEO. PS- this all happened well before the Corono Virus problems so that is not the excuse. Read Less

Been on 8 Princess cruises, this time wasnt that great, the ship was tatty, on our balcony (B531) the wooden rail was loose, the toilet seat was broken, the hairdryer cut out every minute or so. There was a lot of rust. Theatre shows dire, the dining rooms menu hasnt changed since our first cruise and above all we didnt go round Cape Horn as the Captain told us 50 minutes before we should have sailed past we werent going to as "it would have been uncomfortable"... everyone paid a lot of money for this cruise, rhe main reason for booking it was to see Cape Horn. We will be doing this cruise again but it wont be on Princess. Passengers expected it to be rough. personally I feel the captain was far to PC, he should have said get comfy, dont walk round and enjoy an experience you will never forget. The port lecturer was amateurish and shore excursions a total rip off. We paid 100usd on shore for a trip that would have cost 399.95 with Princess. We like Princess and do have orher cruises with them booked but in future they will not be our first choice. The art auctions were just a hard sell and took FAR too long to get going. Prices for photographs were exceptionally high, we never saw anyone buy any ( 169.95 usd for a 16 x 20 ) on the plus side the entertainment team were terrific. No final night party with balloon drop, told it was because Primcess were an environmentall company and werent using single use plastics.. didnt stop them using dozens of large plastic bags for the egg drop, printing hundreds of plastic based photographs no one purchased and printing thousands of A4 flyers for the shops and the spa... out of control hypocracy Read Less

We chose this ship for the itinerary Buenos Aires to Santiago. Itinerary perfect but book your own independent tours for so much less money and far better - too many people on ship tours - think toilets! Staff were fabulous but the people on board lovely but so old i.e. most between 70 and 80 years . No one around after 10 PM . The poor band which were great but had an audience of 6 - quite sad really . Food and dining - great . Tenders to ports were a fiasco. Disorganised and no information if we we were late to port no information from the captain , staff were not informed - it was a shambles , worst part of the cruise.Dining room was the best place to eat as the horizon buffet just too manic . Each to their own ! But definitely recommend for itinerary, the food and friendliness on board and read above for thoughts.. Read Less

We chose this because of the itinerary and because it meshed with our flight. We had done Princess cruises in the past and pretty much knew what we were getting into. The good: Food in dining room had improved. Production shows much improved. The Bad: Food in buffet probably gave one of us food poisoning. It was one awful night. The "tendering" to ports without excursion was painful, slow crowded, just terrible, 2 1/2 hours. Ugly: The pending virus...no one was ever checked but the coughs increased. The mini suite is the only way to go if you can afford it. The ship was supposedly renovated in 2019 but we were hard pressed to figure out where or how. It has a strange combination of decor. Service is very good in most cases. This was the last Princess cruise I will book. Generally we felt "nickel and dimed" throughout the cruise. Read Less

Princess cancelled our Far East cruise and the same day we were booked on to the Coral Princess going from Buenos Aires to Santiago. South America has always been on the bucket list so off we went. Embarkation was fast and well organised and so was disembarkation. Two ports had tender boats which was well organised. The ship is a little tired in places but the service from all the crew was excellent, the food at all the restaurants was really good as was the entertainment. First time back on a Princess ship since 2008 and we were very pleasantly surprised at how good it was. We were very pleased that they have installed hand basins outside the Horizon buffet and crew were very insistent that you had to wash your hands before entering, there were hand sanitizer stations as well and also outside or by all eating areas. The shore excursions organised by the ship are a ridiculous price so all of ours were organised either prior to the cruise or at the port when we arrived. The ports of call were excellent with the exception of Punta Arenas where you definitely need to get out of town. Read Less

Chose this as a preamble to an Antarctic cruise. Wanted to visit the Falklands so decided to do this first and if it got there great, if not I would ensure it was a stop on the Antarctic cruise... Embarkation was chaos. San Antonio check in did not open until 1135/1140. Through relatively quickly as Elite/suite. Had to be be bussed to ship.... :-( Ship is the opposite layout to most Princess Ships. No Crows Nest, Horizon, Wheelhouse forward.... Cabin was fine. Steward terrible. Invited to change after ten days (we accepted this). Disappointed that future cruise credit not on account. Not aware that you had to enter in a box on booking form when booking online. Dining good. We were anytime and the starboard side of Bordeaux. Taken to the port side one night, huge difference in service and quality. Entertainment from outside entertainers generally good. Did not see any singers but comedians and ventriloquists, etc. All great except a Liverpudlian who would be better suited to Carnival with his smutty jokes. Saw very few Princess Theatre Company as most of their songs are very modern and of no interest to me. Plenty of trivia, which we enjoy, and crew strict on swapping papers. Shame Princess don't do what Celebrity do and award tokens for each win. Would be nice to have one bag for life instead of 4 bottle stoppers. Lecturer was awful. We don't need to hear about Pirates on a South American cruise! Also presentation was akin to a child reading aloud in school. Just repeating what was on the power point. Again, more suited to a Carnival Caribbean cruise. A far cry from the discussions and lectures on Viking, with whom we took our previous cruise. The clientelle on a South American cruise tend to be more intellectual that those on a Caribbean etc cruise: there are so few cruises each year that you have to want to book early (1 year in advance) and be prepared to pay the money. Not just cruise because it is a cheap holiday. Ports all good. We did our own thing at each port, either taking a free walk or a cab on the quayside. We booked nothing in advance but had a great time at each port. Would travel with Princess again, but not for a while. Want to do Suez Canal transit but Princess only do a night time transit..... Looks like P&O for this. Also our proposed Antarctic cruise will not be with Princess as the ships are too large. Read Less

Places to visit, so happened we could not get to most of them but was on the ship for one month and had the most amazing time. This ship was everything I read about on cruise critics and more. It reminded me of an old English mansion with the beautiful library, wood paneling, paintings on the walls and small enough to feel like you knew everyone. Most passengers have done this ship before and loved it so much that they were back and some ten times. Our first time on a small ship but just as much things to keep busy all day long. Shows were great but not in a regular theatre style room, so you had to get there at least twenty minutes before show time to get a good seat. With the ship being small only 670 passengers it made things easy to get to most people used the stairs instead of the elevators. I will be very happy to sail on this ship again. Read Less

We selected this cruise as an alternative to flying home from an expedition cruise to Antarctica. Cruising is a great way to see multiple countries, have a consistent place to eat, plus the opportunity to enjoy entertainment and other amenities. People should also know they are a captive audience, pay more for adult beverages, excursions, will likely experience nonstop marketing to buy items on board, pay 20 - 30 dollars a day for Internet, to frequent the paid-for restaurants, or purchase spa treatments. In summary, after 15 cruises on Hurtigruten, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Norwegian, Holland America, Carnival, Princess, and smaller cruise / ferries, Princess was our worst value / experience of any cruise, with Hurtigruten being the best by orders of magnitude. Positives - Matt O - the cruise director who lead the exercise classes, the outdoor movie theater screen, a nice birthday greeting for my wife, and our room attendant. Now for the negatives... 1) We started the cruise with an excursion issue as we booked our cruise online to see Carnaval in Rio, when we got on ship, our excursion was not recorded and now there was no availability. We were relayed to multiple desks, with over 2 hours of waiting, and was finally met by a customer relations manager who ultimately told us it was our issue, they had no way to contact Princess support, and they would only grant us one day internet to see if we could solve our own problem. We told the CRM we needed multiple devices online and was told to just create the account and it would be later credited. Fast-forward a few days, and we see the charge on our bill. We went and met with the same CRM who told us that we could only have the 1 device internet, and we had to pay the difference. He stated that we were not listening like we didn't listen the previous day, and only after asking for his director, did he remove it from our bill. 2) Health Management - We noticed numerous people on the ship who were openly coughing and some passengers jokingly referred to it as the cruise cough. Two specific examples of many include one observation was a woman who was in the Wheelhouse lounge continuously coughing without covering her mouth, with two employees within 10 feet of her, this woman was shivering, took her jacket and covered herself like a blanket, then laid down on the couch. She was not asked to leave the public area and we left the lounge. The second example was in the Horizon Court buffet area, referred to as the cough-eteria. A woman was within 10 feet of the opening at the end of the buffet, openly coughing without covering her mouth, spits up into her ship napkin, at which point I mentioned it to the cruise staff. I went to get coffee and returned to walk past the same woman at the same table, flossing her teeth at the table. This was within 5 feet of the cruise staff and nothing was done while we were there. I submitted a note to the desk, but received no response. We observed no medical screening upon disembarkation the ship when exiting the ship or entering the port terminal and customs. It was astonishing in this global situation of the Corona outbreak, why did Princess not have health monitors asking people to leave the public areas or even have exit medical screening. We avoided many of the shows and other lounge events on this cruise due to our observations. Multiple passengers said they would only go to the doctor on board if they were near death as they realized it would result in isolation or other considerations (we saw multiple people removed from the ship in ambulances). This is more of a human behavior study than a Princess issue, but know that this thinking was rampant on the cruise. 3) Carnaval excursion - This excursion was our main interest on this trip outside of getting home. This was a very busy excursion and when we were traveling to the Samba-school location for the event, we received many instructions on safety and where cruise staff would be so when we needed to return from the event, we could do it safely and without issue. We left at the parade time they recommended, the same location we entered, and it was chaotic at best. We saw no Princess staff present where we entered, and we had to exit into the bus area, luckily finding a Hamburg cruise staff member who told us where the Princess buses and representatives were located. It was also interesting having the bus driver take us through a drunken block party, having people bang on the bus, with the driver subsequently running the remaining red light avoiding stopping on the return. 4) The remaining are grouped. The food quality and selection was very disappointing and it felt like you were at common buffet in or near your hometown, after the lunch or dinner rush. Non-stop pressure to spend more money was clearly the Princess focus - you should know what you're getting into when you get on a ship, so our fault - but it was to the level of a circus side show caller doing the come one, come all, this is the greatest, most rare, your only chance, yadda style of getting people to purchase more. Worst of it was the Effy jewelry sales rep. The Princess Patter documentation for ports did not provide a relative distance for each port of key sights and it was clear their primary interest was to get you on their excursions and less on those who want to walk - again no surprise, and our fault. The port stops were very poor, although there were plenty of the Diamonds International and other cruise port supported shops in the main area, but step out from there and good luck. Needless to say, we will never cruise Princess again and it will likely affect any ship under its holding company. To end this on a positive note, if you want an other-worldly experience on a cruise, take a cruise on Hurtigruten. It will change your life for the positive. Read Less

Entertainment was excellent. We booked a princess selected pre-cruise hotel in Buenos Aires (Sofitel) which was excellent. Great food and excellent staff. We had saved for this trip of a lifetime and it was shocking. We were told the boat had been deep cleaned and it was perfectly safe to travel as the norovirus was no longer an issue. This could have been no further from the truth. Within two days passengers were vomiting with diarrhoea. As you walked to your cabin you could smell both. People were very poorly and they tried to play it down my saying it was mild. As soon as we boarded crew were serving buffet food. There were long waits for food at peak times. Once you got your food you then had to line up again for your drinks. They should have at least had staff serving water to your table. Hand washing was meant to be strict and in most cases it was but on several occasions we saw passengers skip the hand washing and just use the gel which is not effective against Norovirus. Tables were not wiped properly. Top and part of your chair but in an outbreak the edges should be wiped. Norovirus escalated very quickly so on day two we decided we would not go to shows or use the pool. Take the stairs and avoid touching anything outside our cabin. I can honestly say we were disciplined. Passengers were emptying their drink containers down hand washing sinks, this should not be allowed. Interactive screens were not wiped. When we pointed this out to guest services their reply was we did not think of that. Four days before the cruise was due to end I caught it. Can only put it down to chopping fruit onto my cereal as my hands possibly touched the table then touched food. We followed protocol. Called 911 from our cabin. We were told a nurse would call. My husband had to call over 24 hours three times and complain to guest services. No fresh water arrived when we asked. I ended up on a drip. Very poor medical care. Once in the medical centre it was good. Food was bland and uninspiring. We really struggled to find tasty food. Salad was probably the best option. It was more like a back street cafe. Staff were friendly and helpful and the only positive thing I can say about the cruise. I will say though the sanitation staff were poor and did not do the job well. I can see why this virus is still onboard and continues to spread. It’s really put us off cruising with Princess. Cabins are okay. Tired and dated. Read Less

Let me start off by commanding the crew who fought through adversity and came out shining. Kudos to all who worked on this voyage of so many things wrong. We got into Ft. Lauderdale 3 days early to relax and do a little sightseeing - whoops - it rained most of the three days! But, we did have a great Valentine's dinner at the Old Heidelberg Inn close our Best Western hotel. The staff at this hotel desperately require training in customer relations at minimum. Actually, they should be fired! But that is another review on Trip Advisor. Embarkation was quick and actually running early. Got to our cabin (B755) at the back of the ship with a great stern view, nice balcony and just the right size of room for 2 weeks of togetherness. Then, on to explore a bit until our luggage arrived. Nice layout to public rooms, but some of the lounges appeared to be "add-ons" becoming part of the hallways. What happened top intimate Barrs? We did find one tucked away - the Explorers Lounge. This is where the trivia contests were conducted each evening which made for some entertaining evenings. Speaking of entertaining - the floor shows in the Princess Theatre were wonderful. Super talent on display with every musical. We did not take in the standup comedy shows (interfered with Trivia). We did not pack any formal wear so we ate at the buffet most days (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). Only had two breakfasts in the dining room and only three dinners on the non-formal days. Oh, and we tried Steamers as an add-on one evening when they had a two for one sale. Food - what a major disappointment since our last cruise (trans-panama) three years ago! We were served in the buffet, because there was an Norovirus outbreak on the previous sailing. You pointed to what you wanted and they put it on your plate. Hand washing before , after, and even during meal time. Enforced. Which is good and the staff did wonders. But the stuff they were serving up was not great. I have had better at a Chinese buffet at out local Chinese Restaurant in the town I live in - in the boonies of Canada. To order wine with your dinner was a task for the computer literate only. The Medallion app only worked some of the time. Twice we did not get the wine ordered and once we got charged but no wine showed up. To get coffee at any meal time you had to line up to have it served by crew. There were no floaters serving anything - they were all tied up in the buffet area. We got tired of shambling for coffee at breakfast on our third day out - we decided to have brekkie in the dining room. Fine, if you have an hour or so to have a simple meal. Service was super slow and not very attentive to your needs for coffee refill or any pastry or bun. The salmon served at breakfast was near raw and I ended up not eating more than two mouthfuls - c'mon folks - prepare food to guest standards - not some chef that is used to a spoonful of near raw salmon with little crackers. North Americans do not eat that way. Fish or sausages or bacon, eggs, toast, coffee (lots) and serve it up quick - not 45 minute waits. So that was a bust although we did try once more later in our cruise - same result - not to be tried again. Dinner was a long drawn out experience-- a good hour longer than breakfast. And again the food was not dining room quality. Except for one night we had steak and that was very good. So Princess got one out of three on dinners. None on breakfast. Steamers was just OK - a bit too greasy for my tastes. Also somewhat tasteless. At our second port my wife had an accident requiring 5 stitches at the ship's medical centre. That was traumatic enough but the shore excursion folks (on who's tour it happened) - were so sorry it happened they sent my wife a Stanley bear as a "get well" wish. But the medical centre charged us over $900 for 5 stitches. Still fighting with Princess Insurance on that one. After our stop in Curacao - we were supposed to go to Aruba - no way with the outbreak of Norovirus. So we headed back to Ft. Lauderdale a day early. Yes, they put us up at a nice resort (JW Marriott Turnbury Golf resort) but lunch for two (salad and a sandwich) hit $65. A bit out of my league. Too much drama for what was supposed to be a relaxing trip. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we love the Caribbean islands. The stops were great, except Trinidad. We were there during Carnival and the streets were loud and violent - wouldn't choose that port again. Quick note about wipes, regular Clorox wipes won't kill Norovirus, but the hydorgen peroxide wipes do. We took a container on board and wiped our cabin a few times during the two weeks. I can't say enough good things about the crew. They worked so very hard cleaning the ship - they had their regular jobs to do, then spent another 2 hours a day cleaning. The railings, walls, carpets, everything in the cabin, touch screens, elevator buttons were all sanitized once an hour. The dancers and other entertainers scrubbed the theatre between shows - all the seats and folding tray tables - great job! The virus seemed to spread mostly because of a few selfish, arrogant passengers who refused to stay in their cabins for the required 3 days. Also, spouses were not quarantined which made no sense to me. They are sharing beds and bathrooms with ill passengers and were allowed to roam the ship freely. Because of my food allergy we ate mostly in the dining room and our cabin. The headwaiter, Ivan, was fabulous in taking my order and letting me choose anything off the menu. If you just ask, you can mix and match from the menu - this main course, that veggie and a different potato. The food was noticeably better than the previous January. We only ate in the buffet twice where staff were serving and there were long lines for everything. We found the entertainment excellent, but quite a bit too loud. We thoroughly enjoyed the piano bar many evenings. We did a mix of Princess and private excursions and all went well. We had a mini-suite and enjoyed the space and uncovered balcony. I love going out at night and enjoying the stars. I would much rather catch the sun on our balcony than on the noisy, crowded pool deck. That said, we found many quiet nooks on the upper decks to enjoy the view. The Medallions were just plain stupid! Hubby's worked fine, but mine didn't work at all. I went through two and finally just used an access card like before. It kept showing me off ship (?), wouldn't open the door, sent our drink order to the wrong lounge, charged the wrong price .... I didn't even try to set up the "find another cruiser" function. We were disappointed to miss Aruba, but Princess treated us very well -sent us to a lovely golf resort in Miami that had amazing food and great views. The line-ups and buses were a pain, but worked just fine. All in all, we had a mostly relaxing cruise. We met some lovely people, some of whom will be life-long friends.I'm glad we had a spacious cabin where we didn't worry about anything. Read Less

Loved PAST Sea princess cruises. Great food, entertainment and great staff. Completely opposite in staff value. Very unethical and not up to scratch. Head waiter at table completely useless, i complained about a bottle of white wine that was left open and not refrigerated for TWO days.It was completely off! Nothing was done about it. It cost me another $50 for another bottle. Complained at Service desk on last day, still charged for two bottles, NOT GOOD ENOUGH!! 24th Feb filled out cruise survey, no response. NOT GOOD ENOUGH!! Partner and i have done about 15 cruises between us. No more Princess cruises for us... PENDING IF WE RECEIVE A SATISFACTORY REPLY OR NOT! At least they fixed our cabin woes. But for a bottle wine, no refund! Its the principal of it all! We call it customer service!! Should train their staff to be more understanding at complaint levels Read Less

We think the crew and the activities supplied for the cruise were fanastic. The choice of dining was outstanding and well presented. Overall good value and a great holiday. We would sail on her again. We think Princess cruises have a good understanding of our needs and catered to perfection, so that our holiday was an excellent experience. The cabin was well serviced each day and Steward thought of everything to make us feel welcome. Andy the entertainment director was very funny and talented to boot. The entertainment group presented world class shows especially Encore. The onboarding entertainment around the ship daily was really great as well and to a high standard. The Casino was fun and well set out with a variety of machines to play. There are plenty of bars and places around the ship to relax and enjoy the entertainment. The pool areas were well stocked with towels. We would travel again on princess cruises and recommend to our friends. Thanks for a great holiday. Read Less

Had to cancel prior booking in November 2019 and not much selection on short notice. Always sailed Princess in the past. This was the second largest in their fleet with 3500+ passengers. Too many guests for my taste. Service was poor and most staff unfriendly. Head Waiter forgot it was our 50th Anniversary and we didn't get our celebration package. Very disappointing since this was the reason for the cruise. Daytime poolside activities were few and live music was missing the first three days Movie Under the Stars ran all day at max volume which made for difficult reading and no write time. Food selection in Horizon Buffet lacked American cuisine. Geared all towards all International foods. Pizza at Alfredo's Pizzeria was excellent. Catamaran Excursion to Turtle Cove was fantastic. Captain Joe and his crew were terrific. Great way to spend a few hours. This was my only cruise on Princess where I was very disappointed. All past cruises were great. Read Less

Ocean now is cool for ordering beverages, but non-alcoholic drinks were limited on this. I could not use it for a non-alcoholic beer. There was no place to make any notes about order. But it is cool that your first drink delivered on Ocean Now (under $12) is FREE! So don't neglect checking it out. Frustration: two sisters in same stateroom. All the venues just asked stateroom number and many times put items on wrong account even when we specified clearly which account. Other random items appeared on account and I had to remove. I heard one lady saying every day 2-3 drinks appeared on their account which were not theirs, and they had the drinks package! So some glitches still on medallion. I find it helpful to use the medallion app to check daily on my account. Don't wait until the end of the cruise when you cannot remember. We went to book the Sanctuary for a sea day. I waited until boarding because I wanted to use onboard credit. MISTAKE. All sea days were full in Sanctuary. We did it one morning on a port day instead. Lovely, comfortable, quiet place to relax for only $20 for half day. That's only $5 per hour! Next time I will book before we arrive. They also have a special lunch menu, some of the best food I had onboard was here! Our excursions were both pretty lame. Clear-bottom kayaks at Princess Cay. We were in a lagoon in about one foot of water. No fish anywhere. We saw only 2 starfish and one jelly fish. I wish we had been able to be in a deeper area which actually had some fish to see! For St. Maarten our ship was so late, 3pm! We had a privately booked excursion but had to cancel because of arriving so late. So we got on the ship's "Under 2 flags" tour. Boring. Stops were a few minutes at one overlook, a few minutes at a place all the busses stopped convincing us to buy fresh ice cream (which I heard was good) which was overpriced, and 20 minutes only in Marigot at an open market where people were closing down for the day, but did stay open a bit longer for our busses. At least I got to step on the French side and got to buy a few island style dresses for my grandchildren. The Club Class dining room had excellent service. I heard so many good things about Alfredo's pizza place but was extremely disappointed. At least there was no charge for that. The only really bad and bordering on rude service I received was at the bar overlooking the back of the ship. Yes, they were busy, because it was embarkation time. But that is no excuse for rudeness. Most everyone was really nice everywhere else and really tried to do their best to give fantastic service. I would cruise on this ship again. But I wish they would have dance hosts so ladies traveling without a man could dance! Cruise ships used to do this. And they need to fix some of the glitches with the medallion. Ideally, each server can scan the medallion so 2 people sharing the stateroom do not have the problems we did. Read Less

We had a great cruise despite a couple of small hiccups. This ship was beautiful, clean, the staff was all great and friendly all seemed very happy and eager to help. The ship had plenty of activities, all fun, the shows were great, the comedian was hilarious. The food was all great, plenty of selection. The main dining room was great our waiter was fantastic everyone was excellent in service. Our room was always clean, even throughout the day it was refreshed. Ship mechanical errors did cause two delays getting to two different ports. The first delay was very short but the second delay set us back 3 hours and our excursion had to be canceled. we were immediately refunded the cost of the excursion but it did put a damper on that day in port. Unfortunately mechanical issues can't be predicted but the crew was as accommodating as possible in the circumstances. one small issue with the TV not working but it was quickly resolved and we even received onboard credit as a Goodwill gesture which was very nice and appreciated. Overall a great cruise a great ship great crew and staff and we would definitely sail with Princess again. Read Less

This cruise line will nickel and dime you to death. My recommendation would be to find an all inclusive line. This ship is in dire need of mechanical repair. not to just paint over rust to hide it from uninformed tourists. The carpet is stained the walls need painting . The entire ship needs an upgrade. Choose another one, preferably one where you know all charges before you leave the port. One engine had been out for a minimum of two cruises before ours ,and is still out on the cruise they are on now, severely affecting the stabilizers.many people were seasick ,the customer service blamed it on rough seas ,I have sailed for many years ,I know rough seas. We didn’t have any. This boat should have been flat as solid ground. But listening to people at meals and how I’ll they were spoke volumes.i would never recommend this cruise line. My understanding is they have a new CEO. he needs to take this ship and see if it is acceptable to him.Sheila Carroll Read Less
