Princess Cruises have done much to have the risk of cross-infection / cross contamination under control in all areas of the cruise ship. My wife and I were very impressed with that. We both have some knowledge of pathogenic bacterial control. In addition the air quality around the entire ship is fresh, nice and comfortable. Also, the Golden Princess has neat and modern interior decor, really happy with it. Very attractive buffet area (Horizon) with smart, modern lighting - we didn't need to go elsewhere. The service staff are really good, and they're happy people! The stateroom stewardess was joy to have. We didn't see the ship's officers much as they didn't mingle or talk with us. It was nice to hear the captain's voice now and again, however. I would go on the Golden Princess again for sure, and I would recommend this ship to anyone without hesitation. Well done Princess Cruises! Are you guys the best kept secret? Read Less

Wanted to see Kangaroo Island.was very dissapointed with the tour we did. Needed to be able to get food, as we did an afternoon tour, at lunch time, can't take food off the ship, and nothing open to get any on land. Port Lincoln was great, very friendly and helpful. We did a hop on hop off bus, to see different things, guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. There was a train station where we docked in Adelaide so caught the train into the city, to look around. The entertainment on the ship was great. Being on the ship for Australia Day, the activities and music on the pool deck was good fun Meals in Buffett and restaurants was top class Majority of crew were friendly and helpful. There was plenty of lifts on board, that very rarely crowded, normally only a few in them. Over all a lovely cruise Read Less

Chose this cruise because of the time of year and number of nights and because it departed from Melbourne and returned to Melbourne (round trip). Entertainment excellent, cabin great, ships cleanliness and lovely food. Travelled with a disabled family member. Cabin catered for the disable passenger. From the larger cabin door, spacious room and bathroom facilities. Only negative thought on disabled cabin was that it was at the very end of the ship, so going to the Princess Theatre meant walking from one end of the ship to the other. A disabled cabin in the centre of the ship near a lift foyer would have been better. Understandably the passage ways are narrow so not having to walk past cleaning trollys would have been easier. Otherwise entertainment was wonderful. Mocktails were fantastic. Variety of food great. Berninis and Donetello was great, food, waiters and ambience was excellent. Overall wonderful experience. Three girlfriends and myself decided to treat ourselves to a birthday cruise as we were all reaching a milestone birthday this year. Picked this cruise more for timing than destination but was not disappointed. Very happy with all aspects of the cruise except one entertainer and meals got a bit repetitive but plenty of food thru out the day. Lovely staff, very thorough on cleanliness and overall very enjoyable. Getting off at the ports went smoothly and well organised. Staff and crew were very pleasant and helpful. Walking around the ship was not crowded and the line ups for the buffet or dining rooms was also very well run. Plenty of entertainment was happening and we walked around each night listening to what was been presented in each area. Embarkment was well run and very quick with staggered arrival times as was disembarkment. Hint as we had two cabins with two girls in each we made sure we put are cases out together and made collection easy to find at collection point. Read Less

This was the 2nd time we did this cruise because having taken this cruise 2 years ago, we felt there were still places we wanted to explore. Unfortunately of the 4 islands visited, only 2 of the tours were well done those being the Big Island and Oahu. Both Kauai and Maui tours were very disappointing. We also felt that the ship needs a major overhaul if not permanent retirement. There were several buckets placed around the ship to catch leaks and the furniture in the public rooms are literally sagging. The mini suites could use a major design renovation but the bed was extremely comfortable. The service staff were ok but not as great as on previous cruises. Other than Sabatini’s and the 2nd formal night of lobster, the food was just ok. Our server was fabulous and did all she could to make us happy. We had compatible table mates and enjoyed the lively and interesting conversations. All said there will not be a 3rd time for us with Princess to the Hawaiian Islands without some significant improvements as mentioned above. Read Less

This is the first time we took a 14 days cruise toNew Zealand. It was wonderful. We felt we had a very good trip and the itinerary gave us a very good exposure in New Zealand. The weather was very kind to us ,we saw beautiful scenery and had wonderful experience . We booked 3 tours but we did not use the Princess's Tour. I do think the tours in the cruise ship are very overprice. Nowadays, most people can go in the internet and book tours using the internet. Most people can read review and do their own research, so I think the cruise company needs to rethink about the pricing of the their tours. The passengers in this trip were mostly older clients. If you were 30 and under, you maybe feel a bit "not fit in".The staff in the Sea Princess were alway there to provide a wonderful service. We love the movie under the star with warm blanket and popcorn provided . We love this 14 days tour. We will go again . Love the Itinerary. Read Less

Love New Zealand, gorgeous North and South Islands ,we have cruised there before but this time we did a few excursions. We went to Christchurch and Rotorua and we so enjoyed the trips. The Fiordland National Park cruising was spectacular. We caught up with a girlfriend in Auckland and some friends in Wellington and they gave us sight seeing tours which was wonderful , another great thing about the cruise was that we were truly blessed weather wise . We can remember we struck some pretty ordinary weather on our previous New Zealand cruise , sometimes it's a bit hard to pick what time of the year to go. As far as the staff on the ship was concerned , they were all very helpful, certeous and an absolute delight, special mentions go to Airi and Kari customer services agents , nothing was was too much trouble to these young ladies. The entertainment on the ship was good, although we had seen some of it before , we still enjoyed it. Our Cabin Steward Joseph was a happy , friendly sole and very efficient . Our Dining experience was good , food was great but we felt our waiters weren't as friendly as we usually experience. We had a slight issue with some of our laundering , as we are elite on the ship we get our laundry done for us , some of our whites were returned to us grey in colour , what the heck, I just bleached them when I got home. All in all, a fantastic trip!!! Read Less

There's not getting around the fact that Regal Princess is huge. Anyone booking a cruise on this ship should certainly expect to see lots of passengers! That being said, I must say that Princess did a great job in the design of this vessel with respect to traffic flow. We were on an Eastern Caribbean itinerary. Princess Cays, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten. We had stellar weather and sea conditions, which made everything extra nice. We were in category D4 - premium deluxe balcony in the aft of the ship. Cabin A-738. The cabin was a standard balcony cabin with a small pull-out couch and a larger than normal balcony. The depth of the balcony was equivalent to those on most other standard cabins, but it stretched a couple of feet to the left (due to some kind of mechanical room next to us), which really made a nice difference. The food was great. We had breakfast and lunch in the Horizon Court/Bistro every day, and had dinner in the Concerto dining room at the first seating with a nice table for two. On our St. Thomas day, all dining reverted to open seating, as the ship was in port until 10pm. We opted for Alfredo's for pizza that night. The menu at Alfredo's wasn't exactly what we were interested in. Our server was kind enough to allow us to build our own pizza. This turned out wonderful! Entertainment on the ship was quite good. We don't go to the shows (we're not big fans of sitting in the larger theatres), but the entertainment in the Piazza was awesome - a band from Australia and one from Trinidad made for great evenings. Beatlemania on the top deck, sailing out of St. Thomas was the highlight of the cruise. The fitness center was top knotch. You have to get there early to use the weights, etc due to crowds, but treadmills, bikes and ellipticals are readily available. Everything was is excellent repair. The upper deck jogging track was great - 7 x around = 1 mile. Very windy, but hey we're on a ship! The ship's pools were busy, but there were always open sunbeds available. The aft pool is sorta nice (The Royal Princess does not have this), however, it is in the absurdly vast smoking area. The adults only Retreat pool at the forward section was great, with it's own bar and quite ample sunbeds and chairs. This is where we hung out! The ship's design allowed for easy passage from the front of the ship to the back, even on the outdoor decks. 750 + steps from stem to stern! We have already booked the Regal again for next January. Enjoy! Read Less

Just came back today from a 7 day Eastern Caribbean on Regal Princess (second time on this beautiful ship). EVERYTHING from embarkation to disembarkation was flawless. My cabin steward "Kitti" was super - very friendly and helpful, the food and the staff in the Allegro were wonderful, my birthday floral arrangement and b.d. decorations were lovely to enjoy at my "home away from home" and the the music throughout the cruise, particularly the stage productions, really impressed me. Loved the Beatle Maniacs, the Born to Dance show, etc. etc. The ship was immaculate - loved being upgraded to a mini-suite from a balcony and loved being able to sprawl out on the couch to read and relax at night. This was my fourth Princess Cruise and now have "Elite" status in their rewards program and look forward to many more vacations on this ship and others in the Princess fleet. Read Less

The last Princess cruise we were on was before the Carnival takeover. Service has gone downhill as well as the food. You can tell that everything possible is being done to cut costs and it has severely affected the image Princess had previously built for itself. I should clarify my comments about the service. With regards to our cabin, there were no complaints. It was the dining room that needs attention badly. On our last cruise, the NY Strip Steak was on the menu everyday. On this cruise it was only on once and the steak I got was tough and tasteless. There were some very good items on the menu, but overall, the quality has declined from before. Our last cruise was on Norwegian (our first with them) and while the dining room service was about the same (our main complaint with regards to the cruise), the food was every bit as good, if not a little better. The embarkation and disembarkation (including in the ports visited) were the most efficient aspect of the cruise and were a great improvement over our last sailing. Read Less
