Again too long a bus journey from the port to anything and the Port itself sadly was basically a concrete slab in front of what appeared to be a Bus Graveyard. The only neat thing was the Navy Frigate moored in front of us - they had what appeared to be a hand over and piping on board and that was really fun to watch. There was also a performance for us when we arrived with the Chinese Dragon ...

We did not take ship's tour but had pre-booked two days with a driver and guide to take us into the city. Excellent guide booked through Tripbuilder Tours, Myanmar. Fascinating old colonial city. Magnificent Shwedagaon Pagoda, and excellent lunch at the Strand Hotel (Raffles equivalent) ...
