Good Stuff: -Garden Food Court easy to maneuver due to multiple locations to go to. Seating was large and enabled us to find seating unlike other cruises. Food was delicious and different daily. -Many different tours at different price points which we appreciated. -Getting onboard and departing was orgainized & painless except for final retreival of baggage. Had to find in a one sided ...

We chose this cruise because it was going to the British Isles. No problem embarking since we boarded in FR, Le Havre, but apparently there were problems embarking the next day in Southampton.. Our room was quite small which was a disappointment, although it had a balcony. Really could care less about balcony since it was a bit too cool to use it, and made room smaller. Hard to relax in cabin if ...

Great Ports - OK cruise

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on MSC Orchestra

We chose this cruise for the wonderful itinerary and the fact that MSC doesn't charge for infants like other cruise lines do. The itinerary was the Baltic/Northern Europe. The embarkation was amazing - walked right on board and we had showed up early for the embarkation. We did not take any of the ships excursions - booked a Shore Trip excursion for Russia and either did the shuttle or walk ...

We chose this cruise because of the cities, Tallinn, St. Petersburg, Stockholm, Helsinki and Copenhagen. We thoroughly researched each city to determine what excursions, if any we would take. If you go to Russia, it is easiest to go with the ships excursions, as you are required to have a visa. It is really difficult to acquire one. Going thru Russian customs was difficult the first day, as they ...

We chose Norwegian for the itinerary and familiarity with the cruise line. Unfortunately this boat is just too big, only adding people and not amenities. It's crowded and loud and our stateroom was tiny. The customer service desk is located in the atrium where there is always something going on that makes it too loud to even talk to the people at the desk. Very poor placement. We ...

Took an 8 day cruise from Warnemunde, Germany to Copenhagen, Denmark. Had port stops in Tallinn, St. Petersburg (2 days), and Helsinki. We were supposed to have an additional stop in Stockholm but it was cancelled due to high winds. It was supposed to be a 9 day cruise ending in Warnemunde but the cruise line gave us permission to disembark in Copenhagen which was nice because we could spend a ...

Don't get on at Warnemunde if you can help it! (Copenhagen is better)

We met up with friends from Germany and sailed out of this port. The overall experience was ok, but the major embarkation port is Copenhagen, so almost every part of the ship's process was geared towards this process. Thus, even though we got on the ship as Day 1, we were treated like Day 2 passengers, which manifested in little annoying ways. Our cabin was ready when we arrived on Day 1, ...

Great Itinerary - Disappointed by NCL Getaway

My husband and I have cruised with NCL 7 times now, but the Getaway is our least favorite ship. The ship was too crowded and had too many kids running around especially by the pool and buffet dinning room. 2 major disappointments were 1) - The atrium is absolutely NOT the place to hold Games and Trivia activities. There is already traffic from people walking by, its where the customer service ...

Don't recommend embarking at Warnemunde

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

This cruise was unique in that you can embark either in Copenhagen or Warnemuende, Germany (about 2.5 hours from Berlin). Because I was going to spend time in Germany afterwards it seemed to make sense to embark from Germany. I don't recommend this option at all and it made my cruise disjointed, strange, and a second class experience. I would estimate about 10% of the passengers embarked at ...
