Great Ports - Disappointing Ship

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Regal Princess

When I booked the cruise, I selected the Berlin embarkation port. I did not realize that most passengers started in Copenhagen. The fact that we were on leg “c” of the cruise detracted from the overall cruise experience. (1) We were cut off from tour excursions 12 days before the cruise (not 5 as published online) because, according to Princess customer support “our cruise” window had closed, ...

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on MSC Poesia

We enjoyed the places of Port the cruise took, our cabin had a balcony and it was a very nice room, the food was poor and so was the service very unfriendly staff, made the ship experience very unpleasant. Having been on other cruise lines this was the worst experience as it is the service that plays a huge part of the cruising experience. Other than the places of Port i wouldn't taken this line. ...

Probably won’t choose MSC again

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on MSC Poesia

We choose this cruise for the itinerary- 9 ports in 11 days including Saint Petersburg. A good sampling of the Baltic’s. The ship is beautiful, the cabin (11006) adequate, the staff mostly good. MSC in general offers poor customer service-no fault of the onboard staff. It started before the cruise with offered then taken away 12 drink vouchers (or use for gelato). It took 3 months and too many ...

Not the greatest

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

We have cruised many times, including on NCL 3 or 4 times. Even though this cruise had problems due to the weather, that part of the cruise was not in their control, so this has nothing to do with that. The good points were: the ship was very clean and kept that way. There were some nice workers, not many though. Had great on board entertainment. Negatives: Oddly, had several ...

PowerCon of Denmark's EPIC fail with ship power

This Ship is nice and well maintained. There always seemed to be someone out painting on the top decks and i never did see garbage or any dirty dishes about. WARNING: We did have a huge setback however with Princess deciding to be the first ship to hook up to shore power in Norway. This caused our ship to have a power outage and fry some of the ships systems. As such we did not leave port ...

Too many people and smoky

We love Norwegian and always sail with them. We love the destinations, price, and cleanliness of their ships. So we were a little shocked with the Breakaway. It started off bad by the staff losing our luggage. Lucky before we left they found it still on shore 6 hours after we had boarded. They did not even apologize. One of the crew had set it aside and forgotten about it. The layout was ...

Pleasant cruise, but expensive and little stands out as excellent.

The Good -Clean and well maintained ship and cabins. -Friendly crew. -Elegant sit down dinners with good food. -Expensively decorated ship. -Generally rather sedate older moneyed passengers. This is not a Carnival cruise. Needs Improvement -Not great value for the money in my opinion. A pleasant cruise but really impressive in very few ways. -Our cabin was VERY noisy, so ...

We have previously cruised Princess before last year and another time. Embarkation went well..our room was ready and luggage delivered on time. Disembarkation was a nightmare. We had early departure due to early flight time. We did not get to disembark on time...when we did there were other groups also disembarking which was a mess. The ship was not as expected. The dining restaurants ...

Underwhelmed by this ship. Take this strictly for the ports

Despite being told how much we would like this ship, we didn't feel the same way. Fortunately, we only chose this particular ship because of this itinerary, so the ship wasn't our primary focus. CABIN: We were in A506 on Aloha deck (12). Cabin was very small (much smaller than we've experienced before, but still perfectly adequate and the bed was very comfy. Balcony was small, but fine for the ...

Hello Im a cruisecritic lurker... I am a diamond member for RCL but we decided on NCL for the Baltic because of the dates and itinerary. Here is my review- I think people should know the truth. I am comparing NCL to RC and Celebrity here. How disappointing. This will be our last NCl cruise for the following reasons - here are the negatives 1. Mini Suite includes no extras-no robes, no ...
