Pretty little fishing town. Nice and clean and superb beaches. Most places were closed as it was a bank holiday the day we visited but a pleasant little port.

This is where our cruise ended. We rented a car from Europcar and they had a pop up shop parking lot directly across from the ship. Very easy to get to, but you must reserve in advance, as they bring all the cars that are reserved for the day, from a different location. However, if needed, which we did, they got us in contact with Hertz for the rest of our family to get an extra car. We drove to Schwerin Castle and then on to Berlin. Read Less

We could have opted for the Berlin tour but the travel time to/from Berlin would have limited our time in Berlin so we opted to see the cities of Rostock and Warnemunde. Rostock is a quaint city but not very large. The shopping district is good but not terribly exceptional. We actually enjoyed our time in Wernemunde more. It is a very quaint sea-side village with wonderful restaurants and shops. It reminded me more like Cape Cod than Europe. But definitely worth seeing. This little town would be a great three day weekend destination in summer. The beach is very beautiful but when we were there in October at night, it was cold and very windy, (but it added to the majestic nature of the beach.) Read Less

Nice town, plenty to do. Took the train to town for just a few Euros. Purchase train tickets at the kiosks. There are several times to get to/from town. Easy.

This was one of my favorites, because it was a beautiful day and I walked all around the town. Many shops and restaurants, and a nice beach. You can walk from the ship, but we didn't know that, so we took a taxi.

The port's name is WARNEMUNDE! Berlin is 3 hours away and does not have a sea port. Many of our fellow cruisers took the tour to Berlin, so they spent about 6 hours on the highway. Thankfully the stop was very long, arrived at early morning, departure at 9 p.m., so there was plenty of time. We took the local train to Rostock downtown. Warnemunde is part of Rostock, it's the sea port. Both Warnemunde and Rostock downtown are looovely. It you'd prefer to skip the stressful Berlin trip, then both places have plenty to offer and you can spend the entire day there. Cosy place with lots of Gemutlichkeit :-) Read Less

Pretty German town - nice park - nice to walk around and see the boats, ice cream shops and cafes. The beach is really lovely and you can rent a cabana and hang out at the beach. We didn't do an organized tour but loved the day.

We embarked here. There is no elevator when you are trying to cross the train tracks so good luck lugging your luggage up and down the 2 flights of stairs.

Warnemunde is a lovely seaside resort. There is a beautiful white sand beach that you can spend the day at although the sea was too cold for me! There are lovely shops and a climb up the lighthouse costing only €3 is fully worth it. We also took the train to Rostock. A station staff member was on hand to help with tickets. It cost €5.20 for a day ticket for one person but also the same for a group ticket for two adults and three children! From Rostock station we took a tram to Neuer Markt and then walked around this nice little town. There are walking tours which are available but not on the day we were there! Both Rostock and Warnemunde are great places so I wouldn't bother going into Berlin as it's a couple of hours there and back. Read Less

Walking around Warnemunde was very relaxing. It is a cute seaside village with great restaurants and coffee houses. The excursion to Berlin is very tiring with three hours travel each way so we dd not do that.
