Not up to Viking Standards On Board for 60 Days

Review for Viking Octantis to Antarctica

We were on from Ushuaia to Milwaukee, 9 March to 7 May 2022. There were several shortfalls in the usual high-level of service and excursions that Viking is known for. We have been provided with Future Cruise Credits and are very appreciative, but I wanted to take the time to provide specific feedback for your consideration. Kayhan , Restaurant Manager, is a true gem!!! Any shortfalls ...

This was my wife bucket list trip and what a trip it was. First and foremost the Expedition Team, getting us on the zodiacs and off, made sure everyone and I mean everyone was safe. On land, areas mark for safety, asking the many questions we had. Being around them, the enjoyment they were having, it rubbed off. The ship, the staff, and the food, you cannot beat it. The ONE POINT that needs ...

We chose in 2019 because it included the Falklands, South Georgia and Tristan da Cunha, then South Africa and up to the Seychelles. A brilliant cruise for the history but particularly for the animal and bird life. it included three back-to-back cruises that covered half the world. the best parts were undoubtedly in the South Atlantic, South Georgia and the remote Tristan da Cunha. we were ...

On March 6, 2022 we boarded the Le Boreal, from Ponant in Ushuaia. We had wanted to go the Antartica, but decided to change to the Chilean Fjords itinerary, which we didn't regret! This was our first experience with Ponant and will not be the last! From the moment we were greeted at the hotel in Buenos Aires, we knew we would be having a wonderful experience. Registering was easy and quick ...

Antarctica was my husband's choice for his 75th birthday present, so we took advantage of the opportunity to take one of the initial sailings to the bottom of the world on our "top of the cruising world" cruise line, Viking. The experience was truly remarkable--seeing a world in which the color palette was restricted to shades of white, blue, greys, and black yet provided for natural beauty on a ...

We had TWO very smooth crossings of the Drake Passage. The scenery is impossible to describe -- you have to see it yourself. We had two Special Operations Boats that you boarded within the ship for additional excursions. The lectures were very professional and informative, The Aula is a magnificent lecture hall. All the naturalist were very friendly and willing to share their expertise. There are ...

My wife and I are repeat Viking Cruisers due to their consistent customer service and excellent value. When we heard that they were building expedition ships, we made a reservation as soon as it was offered. We could not have been more pleased! The experience was one of the best in our lives. From the cabin to the outstanding food/cuisine, and wine and beverage selections we could not be happier. ...

We chose this cruise just for the experience of seeing Antarctica. Our expectations were greatly exceeded! Everything was first class…the crew, the food, the service, the lectures and activities. We’ve since booked two more Viking cruises! While the initial cost may be more expensive, when you consider that a lot of the other cruise line extras are included, it’s worth the price. Wouldn’t ...

I have been interested in traveling to Antarctica for some time. When we heard about the Viking expedition ships we compared some of the other cruise lines and chose Viking because of our previous experience with Viking Longships and Ocean ships. We were not disappointed. My wife was initially reluctant due to expectations of extreme weather and agreed to the trip mostly because of the add on ...

I had always had an interest in seeing Antarctica and through a group I chose this cruise. It was very well organized and everyone involved was both professional and FUN! The ship itself was beautiful, the cabins very nice and of the food and drink wonderful. But it was the Antarctic in all its splendor that made this cruise so memorable. I’ve told family and friends that they absolutely must put ...
