Review for a South America Cruise on Celebrity Eclipse

On the way to Ushuaia, in the Beagle Channel, we viewed several glaciers, some with waterfalls. Spectacular. Ushuaia interesting small town. Terrific national park. Horrible excursion boat ride. Weather was blowing, seas high. Captain of the small boat going way too fast over waves. Slamming the boat down. Had to stand up out of your seat to meet the waves. Unnecessary. ...

We took a very successful boat tour to see the wildlife in the Beagle Channel which was very enjoyable. We also saw the "lighthouse at the end of the world." This was one of the high points of the trip. The town of Ushuaia was not very accessible for people with mobility difficulties. ...

Ushuaia is the departure and arrival port for this Antarctic cruise. It's a small place with not much to offer in town but a National park nearby and spectacular mountains behind the town. ...

Great for embarking expedition ships. Did see HAL Oosterdam in port - her passengers had to wait in a very very long and slow line to re-embark after time ashore. Lots of shops, restaurants. National park good - wild horses (!), foxes that beg for food, scenery. Museums pretty good for remote port. If just visiting the city, there are a lot of interesting excursions to see nature and ...

Yes, it was nice, however the rhetoric is way better than reality. Our tour was frightfully expensive, a 3 hour bus ride which included 3 stops to admire the scenery of the "End of the Earth" as it is sometimes known. I've visited much better in Tasmania's Cradle Mountain, and New Zealand's South Island. ...
