Watched military and government ceremony celebrating the anniversary of an Argentine Antarctic station. Ceremony was right across from the Pier. Many shops on the Pier with souvenirs and snacks. Took shore excursion of Catamaran ride on the Beagle Channel to observe birds and sea lions close-up. Then, drove in a bus along the southernmost miles of the Pan-American highway to the Fin del Mundo ...

I get a combo excursion. We started with the catamaran that brought us to an island with many seals and birds and then to the national park. There we explored the park by bus and had a return journey by a small train. It was warm and sunny so we enjoyed every minute. There was no time to see a town after the excursion. ...

On the way to Ushuaia, in the Beagle Channel, we viewed several glaciers, some with waterfalls. Spectacular. Ushuaia interesting small town. Terrific national park. Horrible excursion boat ride. Weather was blowing, seas high. Captain of the small boat going way too fast over waves. Slamming the boat down. Had to stand up out of your seat to meet the waves. Unnecessary. ...

We took a very successful boat tour to see the wildlife in the Beagle Channel which was very enjoyable. We also saw the "lighthouse at the end of the world." This was one of the high points of the trip. The town of Ushuaia was not very accessible for people with mobility difficulties. ...
