La Goulette, We thought this had been deleted from the itinerary due to political situation and were surprised to find that MSC had reintroduced their visits here. We were even mnore surprised by the events of our day ashore. We walked thro' the 'village' of tourist shops at the port and then looked for a taxi. Inside the port the taxi marshall charged 40 euros to Medina (Old town souk) and back ...
i would have given it a zero but 1 was the lowest number. Celebrity if you are reading this, pls dont stop at Tunis ever again. This was the worst stop i have every been at. We were forced to go to a market that bullied everyone at the market. The bus left us and we were forced to stay in the sun at 108 degrees for over 1 hour.

Everyone is clearly there for the ship's tourists. Highlight was getting my son's picture riding a camel...then we were back to the ship for fun around the pool.

We did Best of Tunisia tour. Guide was very informative, especially about the recent Jasmine Revolution. Carthage was v. interesting. I really enjoyed the Bardo museum, where one of the guards allowed us to have a peek in a room being restored - fabulous ceiling. It makes me want to go back.
The Medina is a typical souk, labyrinthine streets, dealers offering to bargain, but not too ...
