We chose the cruise as it gave us the opportunity to visit family in Toronto and to share in a holiday of adventure and discovery with friends. The embarkation process was simple and welcoming. We settled into our lovely stateroom quickly and soo enjoyed the spaces and facilities on board the beautiful Octantis. Throughout the voyage we sampled excellent food and beverages in the ...

Just ended the June 10th, 2023 cruise with Viking Polaris that started in Toronto, Canada and ended in Duluth, MN. The above average friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff is superb. The expedition team from Argentina was absolutely fun and excellent. This is and expedition ship and itinerary with an emphasis in "science" and active excursions. The ship has many "toys" including a ...

Great ship. Great staff. Need to work on their communications a bit. Not up the the other Viking experiences we have had.

We chose this cruise to accomplish several items on our bucket list. Those were accomplished. But the embarkation experience was held up by the ship being available late due to fog. Viking accommodated us at a local hotel, provided lunch and we boarded a few hours late. Can't blame the weather but might have arranged a local tour instead of waiting several hours at the hotel. Once on board, the ...

For our first trip into unknown territory after Covid, we decided on a smaller river ship down the St. Lawrence Seaway. The PearlMist was the perfect size, about 100 rooms--every one of them with a balcony--and laid-back. We're not into a Las Vegas sized and style cruise. We much prefer a passenger experience that was manageable and comfortable. Pearl Mist provided it. The good things about ...

When we booked our Pearl Seas cruise in March of 2022 the latest reviews were dated before the pandemic and, while they were mixed, there were several 5* ratings so we thought we’d give it a try. I checked back before our August sailing date and found nothing but negative comments. So, we prepared ourselves to be disappointed. Fortunately, our reality was very different. We were pleased that ...

Great Itinerary with Glitches (some big, some little)

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Viking Octantis

This was just the second cruise with this itinerary and we loved the ports and especially the included excursions (the best we've had on four Viking Cruises). Unfortunately a major glitch was the departure time listed in my documents from Toronto which was listed as 10pm, About 12 people arrived at the port just as the ship was sailing away at 8pm!! Some of them had air booked by Viking which ...
