Amazing Crew and Service

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Paul Gauguin

This was our first cruise aboard the Paul Gauguin and to the French Polynesia. We want to start by saying that the whole crew, from housekeeping, excursions, waiters, deckhands to entertainment staff were simply amazing. Impeccable service and all of them greeted us warmly throughout the day and night. We found the food on board very good, but not excellent. Breakfast lacked variety as it did ...

A once in a lifetime cruise to remember

Even though I lived in Hawaii, the French Polynesian islands offer a different experience in understanding what Hawaii was like before tourism took over. PG ship was much smaller than other cruise ships we have enjoyed but easy to navigate around the ship and more opportunity to get to know fellow passengers. Ship is not as luxurious as Regent or Crystal and rooms are a bit smaller and dated, ...

Great time, poor reservation experiences

We really enjoyed our WindSpirt Cruise. The staff and crew was 5 star all the way. The only thing I would caution about is that there are no elevators. The sleeping decks are on decks 1 and 2. Breakfast is on deck 4 and is only accessible via outdoor stairs. Everything else in the way of eating, lounge, shopping, casino, and reception is on the deck 3. I only caution those who have ...

Great Dining and Service - Rest Below Expectations

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Sirena

My wife and I took the 10 night South Pacific Cruise from Papeete to Papeete. The embarkation process was a breeze, with smiling and helpful crew members guiding us all the way. We had to kill time in the buffet restaurant till our Penthouse Suite (see review below) was ready, but the wait wasn't too long. Our butler was professional and helpful. The food and service in the main dining hall ...

Excellent Cruise/Horrible Air Arrangements by Oceania

Excellent cruise, super food, great bridge instructor and games, superior service by cabin attendants (Mia and Liane), and a great opportunity to meet like-minded travelers. The size of the ship (~600 guests) makes for pleasant opportunities for making acquaintances. This cruise was ideal for us in that we much prefer sea days to port calls and this cruise had ten sea days out of a total of ...

Lovely trip with a few bumps

We arranged a group of 10 of us to celebrate some birthdays in Tahiti for a 10 day cruise on the Sirena. We chose Sirena due to its itinerary as it went from Papeete to other Leeward islands. We are Diamond Plus on Royal Caribbean, and also Celebrity. This is the first “high end” we’ve done other than Silver Seas Galapagos. Most reviews have done an accurate job on ship’s description. While ...

Picked the ship up at Papapette ,which is a bit of a dump. However stayed in a really nice resort, ships recommendation, hung around there for three days which was nice and boarded the ship. Found the ship a bit old and dated and in need of a full revamp. But no kids which is great. We picked this ship for the supposedly magnificent french cooking. The food was good but not ...

We went on this cruise because of the "sea less traveled". It was an adult only charter cruise. The staff was over the top polite and genuinely nice. The cabin, 817, was close to the pool/bar and restaurant. I would book this room again. Just be ready in the morning for the joggers to start stomping like elephants at 8:30 am above your room. After all, you do have to get up for breakfast. The ...

Best way to experience French Polynesia

First Time Cruiser • Age 40s

This was our first cruise and we chose it because of the small ship size, good food reviews and itinerary. Being able to visit multiple islands was a great way to experience this part of the world. You can embark from 1pm and all aboard is 10pm. We checked in at 3pm and then got off at 6pm to pick up a few supplies in Papeete. Getting on and off the ship is very easy, once on the cruise the ...

Very Good Cruise in Rainy Season

This was our second trip on the Paul Gauguin. We did the 10-day cruise last August specifically to snorkel at the two atolls, Fakarava and Rangiroa, in the Tuomotus. We never got there because an engine problem kept us five days in Bora Bora (they had to fly in an engineer with a part from France!). They provided us with some compensation, so we decided to book the seven day version of the same ...
