Serious Issues on August 10 Sailing

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Paul Gauguin

This was our second sail on the PG....our first being only a 7 night cruise almost five years prior. We booked the 10 day itinerary because my husband wanted to dive Rangiiroa and Fakarava. Had friends sail with us and we were in Category B on Deck 8....staterooms 815 and 816. The service from butler, cabin steward, bartenders, marina personnel was impeccable. You only had to ask once for ...

Disappointed

Price point for service/experience provided does not match. Destination (Polynesia) outstanding. Ship experience did not measure up, not a luxury experience. PG had better hope it does not get much competition in this location. Itinerary included a trip to the Marquesas - the entire trip was focused on filming an advertising promotion. No excursions one day for the passengers, due to 'rough ...

I may be the only person who didn't enjoy this cruise and i accept some responsibility for this. The ship itself is beautiful; if you are a couple or family travelling together, it is perfect. if you are single and don't drink and aren't american then you will feel sorely left out. My travelling companion cancelled at the last minute due to hospital admission, so I was left on my own to enjoy ...

We arranged our own travel, so no input on Oceania's air scheduling. We enjoyed the ship, the size of the stateroom (Penthouse Suite) and the tub in the bath. The food was good in all venues, service was not. Red Ginger was our favorite for the service and food. The service in the buffet was always immediate. We only ate in the main dining room twice and service was repeated at a level that we ...

Luxurious ship, shame about missing the best highlight of the itinerary

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Marina

We flew to Tahiti - and after a very long journey getting there, arriving at 5 am, we were taken by bus to a hotel where we were left until we were picked up again and taken to our ship at noon. This meant we saw nothing of Tahiti whatsoever. We chose the cruise because of the itinerary, with the highlight being Easter Island, but in the event the sea was too rough to get off and we missed ...

First cruise on Oceania; not sure we will do another.

We were booked on a 3 week cruise of the Tahitian Islands and missed our trip to Peru the year before and since this one ended in Lima, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to do both. Plus, it was less costly than Celebrity's cruise of the Galapagos Islands and Peru. We had a penthouse suite which was beautiful and immaculate, food was excellent and I am a very picky eater. However, I do ...

Island Cruise

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Paul Gauguin

Our 7-day cruise on the M/S Paul Gauguin had many positives. The ship, crew, and entertainment were outstanding. The menus and meals were excellent. Leftover food is thrown away or pulverized for the sea life. Prices might be lower with less waste. My husband and I figured out that we like being active. Sitting poolside, playing bridge, or working a jigsaw puzzle doesn't cut the mustard. ...

Not Good Value

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Paul Gauguin

The Gauguin has a reputation for ultra-luxury, on which it is clearly riding, at this point. The ship shows its age, outdated décor, faded carpeting, carpet coming up at the seams in main dining room; wooden frame around the pool is not well maintained. One engine went out, necessitating missing one island (there was compensation of $200 ship credit per person). Food is uneven. Staff, ...

A Beautiful Ship, a great crew, but get ready to spend more than you plan on!!

Review for a South America Cruise on Marina

I purposely waited 5 days to write this review because I felt I could write a better review after I rested up from the long trip back. Unfortunately, that has not happened, so here goes! First, the ship is beautiful, the crew was great (I am talking out the stewards, butlers, and staff that had direct contact with the passengers). We made wonderful friends which was the highlight of our ...

My husband and I spent 10 days aboard the Marina of Oceania Cruises February – March 15 to 25 2015. We had a room on Deck level 10, Concierge level A1. Our room was very nice with a spacious bath which included a marbled bath and a shower but no much room in the closet to store the cloths and the empty luggage we have to put under the bed. The room was spacious enough for the two of us for 10 days ...
