Worst cruise I've ever been on, the quality isn't what it was before COVID

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Pacific Adventure

I have been on several other cruises pre COVID. Two were with P&O, the others with Princess. This time around though, I went with my adult daughter and her two children, aged 6 & 8. We booked fairly late for it, spur of the moment, paid about $849 per adult for inside cabin. Slightly less for the kids. Embarkation: Fine ROOM: Fine, although my grandson was in a top bunk and said, ...

We are clearly not Viking Ocean’s target market but made the best of it….

Review for a Asia Cruise on Viking Mars

We picked this cruise for the itinerary, never having sailed with Viking. Previously, we have primarily cruised on Celebrity, so most comparisons will be with our previous Celebrity experience. The ship is nice, very clean, design wise almost sterile (who calls a restaurant “The Restaurant”) with several spaces under-utilized, like the Wintergarden. Staff were generally accommodating and ...

Sydney to Bangkok: Chose this one for The Great Barrier Reef in Australia, and a re-visit to Bangkok. The ship was beautiful, the staff the best of the 25 cruises I've been on, but the upper level excursion staff were extremely rude. This is second Viking Ocean and both have had same issues. The excursions are not vetted properly and they don't give you much information until the night prior, at ...

This is our 3rd time on a cruiseship, 1st time on this one. The waiters and bar staff were amazing, got on better with them than the passengers. Food was good, Cabin was ok, we asked for an Oceanview and got a porthole, a big deal breaker for me was no access to do laundry or ironing, you had to pay to have your laundry done and was very expensive especially being from NZ and everything was in ...

Pros Large cabin Great entertainment Great staff but a good number of them spoke English but did not really understand English very well thus a good number of communication problems Cons Food nowhere near the quality or quantity of our previous cruise with RCL out of Sydney The first night my main course was very under cooked and the vegetables the two of them ie only two ...

Review for a Asia Cruise on Arcadia

This was the sixth cruise my wife and I have taken on board Arcadia. Prior cruises have been very rewarding and enjoyable. Sadly, that appears to have ended. Food was appalling, including the main dining room. Meat was of low quality and the fish was invariably died out. The main course never once looked appetizing and consequently the dinner plates were returned to the waiters with only ...

Cruise for old American cruisers

It took over an hour embarking and we were there when only a few people were waiting. The way of doing things in general appeared much slower than other cruise ships we have been on. The first feed days of the cruise during the day there was always a long line for guest services counter. The guest were mainly older Americans. The entertainment on the ship was very poor, some acts did repeats on ...

Chose this cruise for a 21st birthday The food was terrible only food that was half decent was 24 hour pizza and the sandwich bar. The all you can eat buffet was crap they just couldn’t even get the simple things right. We went to the restaurant for 2 nights the first night I got a steak which I thought might’ve been nice being at the restaurant but was nothing fancy at all no one in ...

Little to no support from Norwegian

Overall, I like this ship with all the improvements and updates. And as long as things are going good, the crew is very helpful. However, after taking all precautions and wearing a mask every day, about 3/4 of the way into to cruise I test positive for Covid 19. I did the right thing by reporting my situation to the medical center on the ship. At this point, cruise service became basically ...

Boarding was seamless and the ship was in excellent condition for wear and tear and cleanliness Our cabin was immaculate, however we experienced poor sleep due to hard beds and pillows and the shower was the smallest I have ever experienced on a cruise ship. The games deck was the best I have seen for senior passengers but not so for young passengers. The taste of the water was ...
