Baltic cruise

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Silver Spirit

We arrived in Stockholm but Lufthansa lost our 2 checked bags. Reminded why we rarely check. Fortunately we had most of our things in carry on. While inquiring about bags we missed our bus to ship. Silversea provided us a car and driver. While no fault of ship- they provided quick turn around on laundry- much appreciated. Bags happily arrived in Tallin. We have been on several river cruises is ...

Good Cruise, Terrible Air Program

We wanted a short cruise that would allow us to visit St. Petersburg at some length, and allow us to spend significant land time in the two most interesting Scandinavian cities, Stockholm and Copenhagen. This cruise was for 7 nights, with three of them in St. Pete. And, it departed from Stockholm and disembarked in Copenhagen. Because we are quite old, and it is painful for us to keep up ...

Viking good as always

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Zhao Shang Yi Dun (Viking Sun)

Sun is the most beautiful ship. Decorated in luxurious Scandinavian style, she absorbs people well. The cabins are nice, with a seating area and a small balcony (deluxe veranda level). Service is great, as is the food, generally, although it is sometimes difficult to get a table at dinner, especially when they have two shows on the same night. The included excursions are usually basic orientation ...

Our first Viking cruise was on the Danube River. It was great, so we decided to try the Ocean cruise. Good decision. The Viking Sun is a beautiful ship. We did the Homeland tour around the Baltic Sea, visitng many beautiful cities. If you like historic old towns, cobblestone streets, and beautiful mountains this is a great itinerary . Our cabin had plenty of space. The heated bathroom floor was ...

A decent cruise with some significant lapses - far from the best.

The VIking Sun is a fine ship. However, there were several areas where the service and amenities were poor. Dining -- The service at the main Restaurant was terrible. It was difficult to get a table when we wanted it, and because our one experience was so terrible,we only ate there once on the entire trip. We were led past an available table by the window and seated at an interior table ...

Good itinerary, great staff, lackluster menus, poor airport transfer service

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Serenade of the Seas

We primarily sail with Royal Caribbean and decided on a Baltic itinerary, on Serenade of the Seas. We prefer to avoid the larger ships. We find them too impersonal and crowded. We were very happy with the numbers of ports and time allowed in each. Fredericia Denmark is really fun. The locals come out to welcome the ship, and to wave goodbye (including a three cannon salute! The entire ...

Enjoyable time on a beautiful ship. Food was plentiful and very good in the Windjammer and it was inot oftencrowded. We didn’t eat at any of the specialty restaurants. There is a definite attempt by Royal Carribean to encourage you to eat in the specialty restaurants by offering repetitive menus when eating in the dining room. The dining service was excellent and the food was very good, except ...

We Were Very Pleasantly Surprised

We chose this cruise solely for the ports of call as we really wanted to visit St.Petersburg and we were also interested in the other places as well. We had a couple of nights in Stockholm first and the hotel arranged a taxi to the port, our embarkation the was 12-12.30 and although we arrived a little bit early we were swiftly 'processed' and we were on the ship in a matter of 15 minutes - ...

A Wonderful Voyage Overall With A Special Medical Care Warning At The End

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Marina

Overall the trip was pretty wonderful. My unfortunate experience in the infirmary (see below) marred an otherwise terrific voyage. We mainly dined in the buffet area, which we found to be very good or excellent with plenty of variety, helpful/attentive staff and the some of best desserts we've ever tasted. So a special nod of appreciation to the dessert chef(s) and helpers. The ship in ...
