Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Vision of the Seas

We were first-time cruisers and had read much on Cruise Critic, especially about this ship. To be honest we were a little apprehensive due to the many negative points and issues we read. Frankly, I think many of those issues lie with the individuals themselves and not necessarily the staff! I will elucidate later on this point. We chose this cruise due to the many interesting ports from ...

This is a review of the Oceania Marina Baltic Treasures Cruise, which departed Stockholm on June 21, 2011. My wife and I (who were traveling with another couple) were quite excited about traveling on this new ship. We've never cruised with Oceania before but had numerous recommendations from friends who enjoy it. Unfortunately, having reflected on our experience on the ship we have mixed feelings ...

We took the 10 day cruise on the Marina from Stockholm to Copenhagen via the Baltic. We extended the stay on each end of the trip by 3 days making it 16 days overall. Yes it was a great trip and one that we would do again ... BUT with some adjustments. Pros >The Marina is a beautiful ship that is just the right size, not one of those floating cities with 3000+ passengers. >Stateroom cabin was ...

As the cruise was for only 4 nights we took an Inside cabin on deck 4 forward which was comfortable and like the rest of the ship was very well maintained. We have been on all the RCCL classes of ship (except for Oasis class) and knew that Vision did not have all the amenities we now take for granted. However we did not need them for this cruise (St Petersburg & Tallinn) and it was made up for in ...

OK - so we were two first-time 30something cruisers not really knowing what to expect and booking mainly so we could see St Petersburg in a cost effective way.  We considered the price of the cruise fantastic: £150 sterling (plus £60 taxes) for an indoor cabin.  We chose the indoor as it was a short cruise and we didn't plan on spending much time inside at all.We travelled from Scotland to ...

This was our second time sailing with Oceania (the other in 2005 Barcelona to Istanbul). We like the smaller ships (less than 700 passengers) and the port intensive itineraries of Oceania. The ships are very nicely appointed and have a "country club casual" ambience. No need to pack all that formal wear. Although staterooms are known to be on the smallish side, they are very well laid out and ...

A great experience! Embarkation: The cruise line had placed signals through out the city, no risk of getting lost! We found the parking lot and paid about 55 dollars for parking in a gated and supervised parking lot. A great deal for parking in Stockholm! We loaded our luggage on a bus and was shipped of to the terminal. The baggage tagging procedure was really bad, we got a few tags, but no ...
