We pre-booked the City Sightseeing hop on, hop off bus tour by Stromma, but ultimately ended up taking the train from Nynashamn port into Stockholm (because Stromma was going to make us wait more than an hour, until 10:00 at the earliest, before their bus would leave the port for the one-hour drive to Stockholm). We took the train back as well because it was easy, more comfortable and we already had the return ticket. Read Less

We were warned about the "safety situation " in Stockholm which was very thoughtful of Costa. Honesty, I know the city very well, but this time we just went for a walk in the old town and that was all we needed

Stockholm was next, and we took the shuttle bus into the city and again explored on our own for most of the day. Had been here before many years ago and loved the old part and the parks to enjoy weather.

Stockholm – we left early, but our brief stay was welcomed by friendly locals, cute shops, pretty old town to stroll around. I will need to come back to see more. I liked the sailing into stockholm via the archipelagos.

Got a taxi out no problem but several taxis refused to take the wheelchair on the way back and the hop on hop off bus said they wouldn't sell us a ticket after 5pm Eventually a taxi did agree to take us.

Beautiful city!! 2 days spent here. Vasa museum, town hall, Abba museum were all brilliant. Ship docked outside city centre, but only 15 min bus ride.

Only spent and afternoon and morning here but wish I'd had more time. Loved the ice bar for its uniqueness. We styed at the Sheraton which is well located and has good rooms. Also the cruiseline picked us up from there to the ship.

Our travel partners opted to stay on the ship. The ship comes into Nynasham, a small seaport village. Then Stockholm is about a 1 hour train ride. We opted to take the train into Stockholm as I wanted to tour Gamla Stan (old town). Unfortunately, when we arrived in Stockholm, a major event/parade was just gearing up and it was just stuffed with people. We finally made it to old town but, again, stuffed with people it was hard to move through the streets. It was unfortunate as we were looking forward to meandering through the cobblestone streets, taking a self-guided walking tour and whiling away some time over a beer/wine at an outdoor cafe. We cut our Stockholm visit short, especially as were concerned that if we stayed and the parade ended, getting the train out of Stockholm would have been a nightmare, so we opted to just head back to Nynasham. Once there, rented bikes and rode the bike path along the sea . Just beautiful. Ended our stay with a leisurely beer and wine. We decided we should have just spent the day there, walking through the charming town. If you are "citied" out by then, that's my recommendation. Read Less

Not nearly enough time in this amazing city. I think we had 6 hours, and we needed more like 2 days. Take time in Gamla Stan - the old town, but it is tourist central - so also need time to get out and see the other islands.
