Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Celebrity Silhouette

Our family of 4 booked two staterooms on the Silhouette, one with a balcony, one with a window view. Loved the balcony stateroom...the other seemed stuffy most of the time. Service was terrific in the main dining room, and the cabin attendants were friendly and efficient. The ship was clean, appeared new, and we actually liked the retro decor in the Ocean View dining area. We sailed in ...

The food was a dissapointment

The ship although rehauled was dark, which made it seem dingy. The food in the main dining room, Blu and Tuscan grille were also a let down, especially since we cruised the Mediterranean on the Equinox which is the same class of ship and the food on that was spectacular!! We were disappointed as we were hoping for the same quailty dining experience. The food in the ocean view cafe was, however , ...

Unorganized; Couldn't get people off the ship in Saint Petersburg in safe, organized and professional manner. ( I am not talking about customs in Russia ). No planning what so ever, this makes me apprehensive about how they would function in an emergency. The manager in the Spa snack bar, in the pool area told me I couldn't be in that area with a robe on. ( I was staying in Aqua Class , I ...

Oceania Marina Baltics 2012- Not so much

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Marina

Much hype, not so much substance. First the good - great cabin stewards and fantastic friendly staff - (not sure of officers - never saw them). The itinerary was great, although one port was aborted (Visby) because of rough water - this was the only tender port. The cabins were nice - bathtub a nice touch. Clean, good maintenance and very comfortable. Avoid the stern however as we ...

Holland America losing its touch

This was our 4th cruise, and our 2nd with Holland America. Overall we were disappointed with Holland America this time. Dining Room: We were on an 'open seating plan' and tried to eat in the main restaurant a number of times. However, we were not able to make reservations for a table for 2 most of the time. The tables were booked already, we were told - for the entire cruise! (Seems ...

Traveling: 2 women in early 50's. Old friends. One coming from NY area, other from FL. This was my 33 cruise. My buddy had only been on one other, and that was RCI. Although, I am Elite on Princess, I am just Gold on RCI. I missed my elite perks, but I tried not to let it color my cruise. I think there is no such thing as a BAD cruise. Although we had an enjoyable time, this cruise rates ...

Vision of the Seas Just Okay

Vision of the Seas is one of RC older boats. We have cruised RC before in the Caribbean and have been on one of the newer and grander boats. This boat does not have the grand veranda to walk through for shopping, speciality restaurants, and extra unique bars like the ships we are used to. If you are looking for specialty restaurants you will not find it on this ship. You are stuck with the ...

Not impressed....

Just returned from 7 day Baltic cruise on Vision of the Seas out of Stockholm. I had read many reviews of Vision of the Seas but decided to try it anyway due to ports of call. I had both positive and negative experiences while on this cruise. The biggest negative was the Shore Excursions desk. They were continually changing things without informing you. I totally understand that things occur ...

Regatta - Northern Europe

Booked Oceania as it was deemed to be the next level of luxury up from the standard lines (as the price would also encourage you to believe). Ship is nicely decorated, but nothing that special - pretty standard. Service is excellent, this is one well trained staff. Oceania prides itself on having some of the best food on the sea and you will not be disappointed. The 2 specialty restaurants ...

This cruise line is pretending to be close to first class. First the management and officers are pathetically uninterested in passengers. I dealt with one who could not sell $5 for $4. How did I dislike this ship? Let me count some of the ways. Bathroom not big enough. Staff, with many exceptions, untrained and uncaring. Butler service a joke. Absolutely worthless. Food, except at the Italian ...
