Loved the Star

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Star

As others have said, this is a beautiful ship. Even with 930 passengers it was always possible to find a quiet and relaxing space to read or just watch the world go by. The service in all areas from restaurants, cabin maintenance and embarkation was excellent. Others have commented that the food wasn't that great; I found it to be very satisfactory - lots of choice and beautifully presented, ...

Great cruise but we were ready to leave after 12 days. last two days were a waste of time. could have spent two more days in st. Petersburg. stavanger and eidfjord were awful time wasters. on two ocean cruises we tried manfredi restaurant three times. no sauces or gravy on different selections which were over cooked or warmed too long. we tried but it was an awful experience ;three out of ...

Our third Viking Cruise.

Cruise was good for the most part but a couple of things could have been handled better. 1.- in Germany I took the 12 hour Berlin tour, 6 hours round trip from ship to Berlin, then a quick 1 hour bus tour around the city and then dropped of in down town for 4 hours on own. This would have been fine if it wasn't Sunday. Apparently it's illegal for stores to open on Sundays in Germany so all ...

Enjoying the Baltic

This was our first Viking OCEAN cruise and it was a beautiful ship, very easy to navigate. Although we were planning to eat mostly fish, the beef was some of the best we have eaten and stuck to that. The service was good but not great. Viking needs to spend more time training their wait staff. Many times the tables remained dirty. Even when they came by your table they would leave the dirty ...

Wonderful but not perfect

We have sailed on many Viking River cruises and decided to do a different type of itinerary which could be accomplished only on an ocean cruise. Our experience with Viking led us to take this cruise. We were originally booked on the 5/26/2017 cruise, but due to a computer crash on British Airways we had to cancel and we re-booked for this cruise. We thought we would take the "free air" this time ...

Excellent food and service

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Marina

We chose this cruise due to the ports - especially 3 days in St. Petersburg. Due to full days in ports and only 1 at sea day, we did not participate in any on board activities. Entertainment at night was not as good as on other cruises, including the Oceania Nautica. We did private port excursions in St. Petersburg and Berlin and on our own in other countries. Oceania excursions were very ...

interesting destinations. We prepared the visits in detail starting We organised most visits ourselves. (you can better take a local agency if you want to visit St Petersburg: This is less expensive and you have much more choice. This agencies take care of the needed visa). Embarkation took a long time. There was no priority boarding or dedicated check-in desk. The cabin is perfect and ...

This was my first cruise with Oceania. It did not start well. I made the reservation and was told all kinds of stuff like how they would coordinate with me on Airline reservations (more in a minute), insurance, and freebees. They never called about the airline reservations. They booked me out of a gateway 5 hours away on a day I didn't want to travel. They had me arriving in Stockholm about 4 ...

Mediterranea, Magic or mayhem. We have just returned from a 13 night cruise aboard the Costa Meditteranea. We flew with Iberia from Madrid to Stockholm and had a few days in Stockholm before boarding the ship. Below is OUR opinion on the ship and cruise. Embarkation. We arrived at Stockholms Fryhamnen cruise terminal using the metro system from Odenplan, a little after midday. We had ...

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Sky

We had never visited the Baltic/Scandinavian countries so the Viking Homelands itinerary was very interesting to us. We spent 3 nights in Stockholm prior to boarding the trip and we are so glad that we did. Stockholm was such an amazingly beautiful place with so much to see and do. We both agreed that we would like to spend more time there in the future. The Viking Sky is brand new and ...
