Serenade of the Seas

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Serenade of the Seas

Serenade of the seas We chose this cruise liner because we wanted to visit the Baltics in Scandinavia We travelled 4 hour journey to Heathrow terminal 5 arriving at midnight in Stockholm which left very little time to look around the city. We had no information or details provide as to what time Royal Caribbean that would be picking us up for transfer to the cruise liner. Grand ...

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Costa Magica

First Time Cruiser • Age 40s

This was the first time I went on a cruise. I went with my mother, who had previously been on two cruises with RCI. We travelled to Stockholm by train, having spent the previous night in Gothenburg. We arrived at Stockholm Södra Station and took a taxi directly to Frihamnen, where Costa Magica was boarding. Boarding went very smoothly, we had to wait for maybe 10-15 minutes before we could ...

Better than larger cruise lines but not a luxury ship

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Azamara Journey

We chose this cruise because we hoped it would be more luxurious, being the highest quality line that Royal Caribbean became but it was not. I would describe this as better than Celebrity (also RC) but not on par with Seaborne or other similar ships. The food was decent. The speciality restaurants were not worth the money. The best place we ate was the Patio which was outside. A small ...

Some highs and lows, but mostly highs

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Marina

We chose Oceania because of its reputation, and the smaller size of ship which allowed a more port-intensive cruise (No "at-sea" days in the Baltic). We spent more money than we normally would and booked Oceania Suite 11080 - about 1,000 square feet at the back of the ship, with a wraparound balcony. It was our first Oceania cruise after 3 Celebrity cruises + 3 river cruises (2 with Viking ...

We selected the Viking Homelands cruise because of the Baltic countries we wanted to visit. The ship is beautiful and exceptionally clean. Embarkation excellent and was on ship about 12:00 noon. Announced all cabins available about 1:30. Although we were in a veranda cabin, we ate in Manfredi's three times and twice at Chef's Table. Food was excellent in all dining venues. Didn't buy drink ...

Overall excellent - one serious area of concern

Will not cover all areas of excellence, as they are too numerous to mention, and have been thoroughly reviewed by fellow passengers. One area which I did not see mentioned was security. My husband and I were quite impressed with the diligence of the security staff. This is often an area which we feel has been neglected on other ships. Not on Viking Sky — well done! Another area which earns high ...

Beautiful Ship, Cruise - Difficult for those with mobility issues

This was a cruise to celebrate my Mother's 80th Birthday. Everything about the ship, staff, activities and food was top-notch. The cabins are spacious and very well thought-out. Every cabin has a veranda. The Cabin stewards are attentive and thoughtful. The food was delicious, varied and plentiful. We especially loved the afternoon tea. the ship is so well thought out that you never feel as ...

Because, Homelands Itinerary!

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Zhao Shang Yi Dun (Viking Sun)

We selected this Viking Ocean Cruise due to its extended Homelands Itinerary. Other lines do many of the same ports, but they don't do them all in one shot the way Viking does. We have done multiple River Cruises with Viking, so we were not apprehensive about trying the Ocean Cruising side with the company. Overall it was very good, albeit pricey. So, when comparing this itinerary to other ...

Viking Sky - excellent but ground tours lacking

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Sky

We have previously done river cruises with Viking and was quite impressed by the organisation and the facilities. Viking Sky did not disappoint. The ship is beautiful and the staff were excellent. Very personable and efficient. The food was varied and prepared and presented beautifully. Passengers can ask for small serves or, if wanted, double serves although the standard serve was more than ...

We chose Viking because we wanted the smaller ship, & because of their reputation. We had a lovely time, but would we cruise with them again...I'm not so sure. The ship was absolutely spotless and, because of the small passenger numbers, there was always plenty of space to just chill out. Unlike bigger ships that we've sailed on, you could always find a secluded lounge area or a table. The ...
