We took a taxi from the Port to the Vasa museum. It cost 80 Euros. Let us say the taxi driver did arrange the conversion from sweden crowns to Euros at his advantage. He didn't offer credit card payment. We came back by foot with the help of Google maps on my Smart phone. 1 hour walk. So, don't forget your Sweden Crowns. Vasa Museum is terrific to visit. It's a must. The museum is located in an aera where there are many other museums. Read Less

Loved it. Spectacularly pretty Old Town. If you feel like something different, buy a 24hr transport ticket and ride the underground. Each station is decorated differently and some of the artwork is incredible.

We took the combined bus/boat hop-on/hop-off for 2 days. Stockholm is NOT the Venice of the north, Amsterdam is a better comparator. The city was nice, not special and very expensive. The people were friendly.

Stockholm – we walked to the dock next to the ship to board the s.s. Emilie water taxi at 8:28am. We bought the all-day ticket at senior rate on the boat with a credit card. It took us to the Vasa museum, then at 10:38am to the market Square. We walked to the Royal Palace and viewed the changing of the guards and the parade. At 1pm we did a free walking tour from the Gamla Stan train station. Our guide Anna was a Canadian from Montreal studying in Stockholm. Not as experienced as others we’ve had. When the tour finished we returned to market square at 2:50pm to take s.s. Emilie at 2:50 back to the ship (20 minutes). Read Less

Ship docked in Nynashamn instead of Stockholm 1-hour bus shuttle (fee paid by guests) to Stockholm Reduced time in Stockholm Chaotic bus logistics for the return to the ship – exhausted seniors told to wait for 2 ½ more hours for the “correct” bus transport to return to ship, even though seating was available on the existing buses. Ship docked on Saturday following Midsummer Festival kickoff – most shops and stores in Stockholm were closed. This is an event known to occur at least 1 year in advance. Extremely poor planning by NCL. Read Less

Not a city known by a lot of people. Why not? It is one of the most pictoresque cities I've ever seen. It has a beautiful old city center, musea, culture, sites. I was glad we spent two days there!

Pre-purchased 48-hour Stockholm card and what a bargain! It combined admissions with the Hop On/Off bus/boat ticket. On day 1, we made reservations to take the shorter 50-minute boat ride at the end of the day. On day 2, we took the longer 135-minute boat ride to the lake and back through the locks, where it was amazing to see folks on the small boats holding onto ropes as the water rose/fell. Enjoyed the Vasa Museum 15-minute film with English subtitles so we didn't have to wait until next showing. Read Less

Very lovely stop full of history and great to walk around the Old Town. Check and see where your cruise ship will park, as some dock away from town. Open Top bus was a great option as they do stop at most piers.
