Most uninspired cruise line we have ever used.

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Le Soleal

We paid a premium price for this cruise to see what a more luxurious ship was like. We expected much more than we actually got. Ship only 2 years old, so quite modern and trendier than other cruise lines. Cabin same size as normal ship, although the toilet was separate which was good. The lounge areas were uninspiring. Afternoons entertainment violinist and a jazz singer, piano player. They were ...

Very disappointing

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Celebrity Silhouette

We are frequent cruisers and had previously cruised on Celebrity several times, although not recently. We were, frankly, shocked to see how far Celebrity has gone downhill. Celebrity used to have some of the best food at sea. On this cruise the food in the dining room was, at best, mediocre (below Royal Caribbean and Princess and well below Holland America). The food at the buffet was just ...

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Celebrity Silhouette

This cruise was our third in three years on Celebrity Silhouette. We were amazed at how the standards had fallen in only 8 months since our previous cruise. The food in the Oceanview Cafe was very ordinary, and this was probably deliberate, in an attempt to push people to the specialty restaurants. Cleanliness was a major concern, with dirty plates and mugs, as well as dirty cutlery. ...

Wind Surf from a first timer

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Wind Surf

Although this was our first experience with Windstar (and last), we have sailed many times. When a cruise line advertises a "luxury cruise experience" and charges accordingly, my wife and I have a certain level of expectation that comes from traveling with the likes of Regent Seven Seas. Windstar is NOT Regent! (Not even close) While we had a nice time/interesting itinerary and the crew and ...

This was our second cruise on Holland America. First was on the Statendam so we were excited to be on HA's flagship. Boy were we disappointed. The ship itself is nice. The service and staff however were indifferent. We were disappointed with Holland America. Good: Nice ship and cabin. We had a wonderful balcony that provided a great place to relax and take in the Baltic scenery. The ...

DISAPPOINTING

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Seven Seas Voyager

My husband and I sailed on the Regent Sea Seas Voyager in June 2011 and it was a pretty disappointing experience. The cruise is advertised as "six star luxury" however if there were any six star experiences on the ship we didn't experience them. The cruise did not start well. I expected there would be "in cabin" check in, however instead everyone was herded into the ship's theatre and made to sit ...

Friendly, But Poor Value

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Regatta

User Avatar

First Time Cruiser • Age 70s

The Regatta fell far short of Celebrity ships in terms of plush, impressive common areas, such as forums, restaurants, theatres, etc. The casino seemed to have little interest in serving customers. There were no tournaments for the guests and no $5 minimum blackjack tables. The chairs for video gambling were much too low for comfort. There were no production stage numbers, such as you get most ...

shabby but not chic

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Celebrity Constellation

It is hard to believe that this is the top rated ship. Our observations were entirely to the contrary. The general decor of the ship was worn and tattered. The chair arms were frayed and the carpets showed worn spots and stains. The bar at the edge of the world decor was one of the worst decors we have seen. The ceiling is hanging gauze that looks like tripe(cows stomach)which made it very dark. ...

AGE and Cuts showing

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Celebrity Constellation

EMBARKATION: Relatively smooth. Good idea to fill out documents on line make process easier. STATEROOM: The ship is showing her age. Several outlets didn't work and the shower had mildew growing. We were on the 9th floor and the noise from the pool area above us was bothersome. SHIP: The connie has seen better days and is in need of dry docking. Carpets were worn and had spots. Decor was somewhat ...

Celebrity Constellation - Northern Europe

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Celebrity Constellation

We read many reviews and books and expected this to be such an amazing cruise. What a disappointment. We booked concierge class and all the brochures talked about the "pillow menu". We did not get one. The ports were great, except the ship docked at container ports so we were quite a ways from the cities. Celebrity operated a shuttle bus that cost $12 per person, per day to ride to the city. ...
