We wanted to see countries we had never seen before: specifically Norway, Sweden and Russia. We also wanted to try an ocean cruise, we had only been on a river cruise previously. And of course we chose Viking because we had such an amazing time on our last cruise with Viking. The crew was above and beyond attentive, friendly, professional, entertaining, and personable. They anticipated and met ...

Viking Homelands Cruise

Enjoyed a Viking river cruise and wanted to experience a sea cruise. The smaller ship was more to our liking. Embarkation and disembarkation went very well. We were met at the airport and we were taken care of from arrival to departure. Having no children was a bonus. Entertainment was somewhat limited but what we had was very good. Crew were all very polite and could not have been ...

Fabulous Baltic Jewels & Viking Homelands

We chose this cruise as we wanted to cover northern Europe. We didn't want to be on one of those mega ships with thousands of passengers. Viking's ocean ships with a passenger capacity of 930 people is perfect. The itinerary in terms of countries we wanted to visit was ideal. We took advantage of the included tours at each port and also did many optional tours. (There are may optional tours ...

We chose this cruise because we wanted to visit the Baltic area countries and a part of Russia. It more than met our expectations. The food and beverages were up to the highest Viking standards. The specialty restaurants were one of the trip highlights. The buffet meals contained such variety from appetizers to entrees, to desserts that anyone could enjoy a gourmet meal for breakfast, lunch or ...

Exceptional, taster trip of the Baltic

We never thought we would want to go on a cruise, too many people, too many kids, too regimented. We were recommended this Viking trip by good friends, so took the risk! The cruise ship is geared for older adults, with no kids and I think no wheel chairs. Most of the trips needed the ability or climb on and off buses, and to walk on cobbled streets. We loved the quiet of no children and we met ...

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Le Soleal

I had an invitation to cruise the Baltic - a chance for me to retrace my footsteps as a young traveller in this part of the world which has seen so many changes, Le Soleal lived up to all promises, with exceptional French service and superb food and beverages at all times. Tours were well organised and wonderfully instructive. Relaxing on the ship was a great experience, though we were ...

We chose the “Viking Homelands” trip. The ports of call were wonderful — Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Russia, Poland, Germany, Denmark and Norway. (Norway is my favorite country to visit — coming back in February on Vinking to see the Northeren Lights). The shore excursions were geared to your liking — easy, moderate and demanding— they covered all range groups. I always wanted to see the Fabrege ...

Past experience with Viking put them at the front of our list of cruise ship companies. Our interests were in exploring and experiencing a part of the World that we had not visited previously or to this depth. While a one destination trip will give one much greater depth of experience and understanding of a locale, a cruise such as this is excellent for giving a broader scope of a number of ...

The Baltic was an area of the world we had not visited and thought what better line than to choose Viking, Their Homeland Cruise. Every country, every port was chosen with great thought and this cruise gave us a wonderful view of the Baltic countries. The ship staff work so hard to provide us with a fabulous experience; nothing is too much for them to handle. The amenities are beyond comparison ...

Beautiful ship; staff extremely pleasant and accommodating!! Loved Entertainment especially Luis and Viking Band( not a fan of classical music).. Some of the entertainers they brought on board were not my favorites. Ship entertainment staff- very good. Great shows except forgot the Rollong Stones in the 60’s. Liked staying over in Stockholm, St. Petersburg and Bergen. Only one day at sea was ...
