Stockholm was a gorgeous port. We had far too short a day there though so we didn't get everything done we wanted to. We took the hop-on hop-off boat which was great, although one was broken down the morning we got there so they were a little slow. We hit the Gamla Stan first and adored the place, it was so pretty, although the castle really isn't that nice. We did a tour of the cathedral which was really interesting with it's St George and the Dragon statue. From there we went to the Vasa and joined a tour there. Amazing museum, the kids loved it. They even loved the movie which talked through the restoration. The boat is so well restored and there is so many other artifacts there as well as recreations that you can spend quite a while there. Then we hit Tivoli Grund and the kids barely had enough time for 3 rides before we had to race back to our boat. A lovely day (nice and warm too), but over too quickly.   Read Less

Took an NCL tour only to go to VASA museum. This was a wonderful museum and the ship is magnificent. We decided to get off the tour in the old city and walked around and walked back to ship. Lots of stores for shopping in old city and this was such a nice day so we walked along the water and ate ice cream. Enjoyed and wish we could have stayed longer. We had to back on the ship by 3:30. Very friendly people.  The blue room and city hall were amazing.  Absolutely worth a tour.  Tours were at 10, 12, and 2.  There was one room made of gold mosaic tile that was brilliant.  The Swedish changing of the guards was great but very long.  The Swedish guards are not stoic like the British ones.  The armory room was great.  I wish we saw the Vasa but never got the chance.  Everyone who did loved it.  Read Less

What a beautiful place we could have spent a week there. It was certainly our favourite port. We saw the changing of the guard which was a great experience and the little cobbled streets were a dream to walk around.
