We walked around the city and had drinks in one of the pubs close to the cathedral. There is not a lot to see but you could spend a couple of hours walking in the city center and doing some shopping. ...

Love Stavanger and would like to go again. Some good museums and also the old town is interesting - I also think that there are some good trips to be taken from this base. Very accessible as a destination from the ship ...

An attractive location with much of interest within walking distance of the harbour. I took an excursion outside the main city area which took in a number of suburban and rural areas, giving a broader impression of the city and its surroundings. The tour was well organised with a good guide and allowed sufficient time at various stops to enjoy the views and other points of interes. ...

Without doubt one of the highlights of the cruise. We took a boat excursion Lysefjord Cruise and Pulpit Rock. Worth every penny some of the most fantastic scenery we have ever seen. Later we made a visit to the Norwegian Canning Museum just a short walk from the ship, sounds boring but it was anything but! ...

There’s a good hop on hop off bus here. Recommend you do the Petroleum Museum and allow a good 90 minutes there. It’s an excellent insight into the past the present and the future for oil and it’s impact on Norway and beyond ...

(docked) Took the “Lysefjord: Pulpit Rock Cruise Tour,” which was a rather chilling and rainy boat ride from port to fjord. Luckily, upon arriving at fjord the weather cleared to view the various shear cliffs, which appeared more like rock art, and waterfalls. Tour includes a stop for all you can eat waffles and coffee, which was a benefit after the chilly ride over. Cruise was definitely a ...

We docked right in the town centre, five minute walk away. They have a HOHO bus and the city sightseeing bus which look exactly the same but if you get a ticket for one you can't use it on the other so just check which one you're using. We paid in dollars $35 a person for a 40 minute trip I think it was. 350NOK Various museums are on route, we got off at the Museum of archaeology which was ...
