Great sights to visit, but don't go if there are things you can't eat.

Took cruise sincere a friend on the China tour / cruise told us how well the chef on that tour accomodated people with special diets. We contacted the Viking agent, discussed our problem in detail with her and sent her a copy of the dietary restrictions. We were told they wouldn't be a problem and that Viking was known for their ability to customize experiences for their passengers. Long ...

In Australia, we were happy to pay the $11,000 per person (excluding airfares) based on the fact that everything you could possibly need or want on tour was included in the tour price - "a five star, once in a lifetime luxurious experience!" is what we were sold. This was supported by advertising propaganda provided to our travel agent, inserts in their Scenic Russia brochure and on-line ...

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Royal Princess

I recently took a cruise on the Royal Princess. I chose the cruise because of the itinerary: it was the only cruise including Scandinavia and the Baltics that started and ended in St. Petersburg, enabling me to spend more than the usual cruise-offered one or two nights in St. Petersburg, and to go to Moscow as well. I had cruised with Princess once before, on the former Renaissance ship Pacific ...

This was our first cruise with Uniworld  our expectations due to the purchase price of the cruise was very high..our experience was however very disappointing.the disclaimer Uniworld uses in describing the Russian cruise verses their other all Uniworld cruises is ridiculously inappropriate. The boat was nice but looked nothing like the boats on the Uniworld website.the food was good for the most ...

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on Viking Helgi

We are experienced travellers and what happened to us on this trip has never happened before and the problems we experienced ruined what should have been an enjoyable expereince. Our difficulties started in the air routing selected by Viking River cruises (we had chosen to purchase both the air and cruise portion from Viking something we normally do not do). For some reason they chose to route us ...

Booked a Categrory B, Deluxe Cabin on the Viking Surkov for the Waterways of the Czars cruise (Aug. 10-22,2009). On day one of sailing there was an obnoxious smell of raw sewage in our cabin and in the hallway. We informed reception and were told that this is normal when the ship is in motion, the sewage sloshes! We were unable to sleep because of the stench and the fact that the A/C didn't ...
