Another port and no organized excursion! We were familiar with the island and upon leaving the ship took a taxi to Grand Case, on the French side of the island. ( A bargain at $25/2 one way!) We found a wonderful restaurant that offered a lounge chair and beach umbrella on and absolutely exquisite stretch of Grand Case beach, with the simple order of an iced tea!( and not a screaming child or ...

Yea, love coming back here,it's great. A little water taxi takes you from the jetty to the town and here you find duty free in abundace, local t-shits, caps etc, lovely people and a great atmosphere. You can take a ten minute bus ride to the french side with a market and go up the tower for a great panoramic view over the island, or stay on the beach and have 5 beers, 2 loungers and an umbrella ...
