We have been to St Kitts before and took the Sugar Train which is great. This time we took a local taxi around the Island which was average. Unfortunately There were two large cruise ships in the same time as us and it rather swamped the little town. The new shopping complex near the terminals sells Jewelry or goods made in China or India which you can buy anywhere in the world, cheap T shirts and "Tad" nothing unique. Read Less

Again a typical Caribbean island, my 2nd best place. Straight off the ship and you are there in the middle of it all, lots of shopping, pubs, places to eat. so much atmosphere here, very friendly people, had a lovely day.

We tried to schedule a quiet day after each busy one, so this day started with a late breakfast and then shopping in the sparkling new port shopping area. This is the nicest, most convenient shopping on all these islands. There is so much stunning jewelry that you can't help getting swept up in shopping fever. We particularly liked Glitter Jewelry, where Yosh was persistent but not too pushy and ended up finding a nice fit to our taste. Read Less

We stuck close to the pier in St. Kitts. We found the people here were so friendly, and the shopping was great! Check out Venetian Fine Jewellers. Wonderful staff, and reasonable negotiating. We loved this store. All the shops and restaurants here were friendly and great prices. There are men walking around with baby pet monkeys. For $10 they will allow you to pose for photos while holding the adorable monkeys. Our kids got a real kick out of these tiny monkeys with diapers on. Read Less

Found the cheapest beer on this island. Only ventured off in surrounding area. Had an ordeal with a native and was hecked but still liked the island.

We went to the ShipWreck Beach bar located on South Fryers Beach. What a great beach day! Reasonably priced lounges under rustic palm frond shades, dark sand beach with good offshore snorkeling and a swim/dive platform. Bar and food prices were reasonable and the staff could not be friendlier. It was refreshing to not have vendors on the beach trying to sell you stuff, though there were ladies offering massages - They were friendly and not aggressive. All in a beautiful rustic low key beach day Read Less

St. Kitts was the worst island for a cruiser who wants to explore on their own. Their are locals fighting with the security as soon as you get off the pier, there is nothing to do except see the same shops that were on the previous islands and deal with the locals trying to hustle you. I would not recommend leaving the ship with out an excursion planned. We were hoping to book an excursion once on this island, but the people we talked to on the island were not that helpful nor did they make you feel comfortable about working with them. I would recommend booking your excursion through the cruise line if you want to get off the ship on tho island. Read Less
