Excellent port, with everything walkable. Did the hike excursion down signal hill. Only the very fit should attempt this as guide runs down . For the cautious due to loose rocks and very steep terrain it will take 2 hours. Loved the churches and cathedral all free. Best port for souvenirs and restaurants. ...

Just ok - we did our own thing, walking around and having lunch before stopping off at a few microbreweries as we made our way back to the ship. St John's has a few areas which are quite rundown though - and some very dodgy bars !! ...
Not much there but great to get off and walk. There is a lake you can walk around on the way to a fishing village. Four miles round trip, just great to get excercise ...
If you are into hiking, it was fabulous. There is a trail out of Quidi Vidi (from the port, follow the trail by the lake which is pretty and well paved) that goes up the side of the mountain past North Head Trail Lookout and over to Signal Hill. From there, follow the North Head trail down - but be aware that there were portions that were tricky - down along the coast. The views are spectacular. ...
Docked at Pier 10. Most shops and pubs are within the first three blocks away from the ship. We walked to the Quidi Vidi Brewery. It was a long 45 minutes walk through the suburbs.
