23 St. John's (Newfoundland) Cruise Reviews

We wandered around the town, did a bit of shopping in a mall (some items we forgot). SH also bought a very nice jacket. This, however was the most forgettable port.

Just ok - we did our own thing, walking around and having lunch before stopping off at a few microbreweries as we made our way back to the ship. St John's has a few areas which are quite rundown though - and some very dodgy bars !!

This is a nice port; since we were last there they have improved the area. Lots of lovely stores and restaurants.

A quiet town. Good shopping. You can walk to and around the mall. Did not take any excursions.

No duty free facilities in St Johns. Tours were pretty bland. Shopping is so so. People are very friendly. Place was very clean. Shopping center such as it was was within easy walking distance of the ship.

Not much to see since the fog was in for the day. I suspect this port is nice when the weather is clear, but we did not get the chance to see it. We did the trolly tour which lasted for about 1.5 hours and was good. The city is an old time ... Read More

No port choice of Cornerbrook, Newfoundland on this site so sneaking it here. Gros Morne National Park was beautiful and large. The mountains, lakes, Rocky Harbour, and Lobster Cove were wonderful. Not a tour for shoppers, although our guide at lunch pointed out a couple of local souvenir shops and the bus actually stopped at another. Lunch was nice. Parks Canada has a nice short film on the park in the Visitor Center. Also some souvenir shopping available there. Tour guide, Vance, was hilarious, and had the bus laughing the entire trip with his stories about local life and the colorful characters that live in Cornerbrook. Not much to see in town of Cornerbrook. Read Less

Very quaint town. Despite 12K people or so descending on the town, it seemed well-equipped. Did low-key excursion -- horse drawn trailer. Guides were well-informed. Ate at Steamers, service and food was a bit disappointing.

Aw Canada, what can you say? Again, an easy downtown to walk (as with Portland it is hilly). Not a lot of shopping that we could find. Also lacking in restaurants (at least that we could find). I'd skip the pedway from the dock to ... Read More
Aw Canada, what can you say? Again, an easy downtown to walk (as with Portland it is hilly). Not a lot of shopping that we could find. Also lacking in restaurants (at least that we could find). I'd skip the pedway from the dock to the market and walk (if you can) so as not to miss out on some of the street fronting stores. The mall was not worth it. Nice park at the top of the hill (you'll need to rest after walking uphill) and some nice churches. Read Less
