11 St. Barts Cruise Reviews

St. Barts is as unwelcoming as ever to day visitors. It is very French, very expensive and quite snooty. We didn't expect much and St. Barts met our expectations. We walked around a bit. The Shell Beach was nearby and nice.

As ship docked on a Sunday -- all shops and restaurants around the dock area were closed. Poor planning on Azamara's part, IMO.

Crazy cab drive on steep and narrow roads with mostly French speaking driver. Not much to see on this island and since it was Sunday, most shops were closed. Not worth the tender ride over.

Been there before. Okay place to walk around particularly the marina area. Expensive shopping. Have done the Odyssee snorkeling excursion before and it was pretty good - this time it was cancelled due to low interest.

WE rented a car for a ride around St Barths and a trip to the beaches. Although St Barths has a reputation for the upscale European island - you can have it. No charm, too crowded. When my French Canadian wife asked the wine shop proprietor "ou est le salle de bains?" literally where is the bathroom, the owner made fun of her for not saying where is the "toilette" which is the name that French people call a public bathroom. Typical French snottiness - worse than Paris! Guadeloupe, St Martin and Martinique are much more charming French Caribbean isles. Read Less

I was afraid someone would get hurt getting on and off the tender, it was bobbing up and down so violently. Read Less
