I could give the same review of all the ports we went to on this cruise but this one was interesting in that we took the old gold rush train as our excursion. I loved it, the history, the experience and we saw a brown bear eating dandy lions just next to our train on the way up. Very pretty little town. ...

Beautiful town, beautiful scenic cruising when we left. Nice hike to the lake, but bear in mind it is a little challenging for novice hikers or people wearing flip-flops. Negative experience trying to eat lunch at a local restaurant that really didn't seem crowded, but took forever to prepare the food. Make sure you understand where you're going to get back on the ship! Things are weird ...

Skagway has a fascinating history as the gateway to the Klondike gold rush of 1898. There are many historic buildings and an old graveyard which is worth a look. Visit the National Park visitor center immediately on arrival and book up for tours or talks that you might be interested in. The White Pass railway is worth taking, at least one way - the road journey is also scenic. ...

While Skagway itself is a bit dull, there was a train that was worth the wait, the views on the way out of port were absolutely stunning. take cash with you on the train if you’d like a Tolkien of your train ride. ...

Probably the most beautiful place on Earth. We did both the train excursion which was very scenic but got boring and then the NCL panning for gold/playing with musher puppies. The gold panning and puppy excursion was our 2nd favorite and I highly recommend this. It is great for kids and adults. The facility that they bring you to is breath taking. ...

Another day of beautiful weather. Walked around town, a few beers at Skagway brewing (good!) and then the train excursion, which was amazing but also terrifying at some points in the journey. ...
