This is a small port town. They happened to be having a music festival which was awesome. We went into town with my aunt with mobility issues and she had a nice time. There places she could sit and rest although the cobblestones were difficult. My husband and I walked over to the beach and saw the point between the North and Baltic seas from a distance. It was a nice day and the people seemed very nice. They said they wouldn’t have another cruise ship for a week which is so different from when we landed in Copenhagen the next day they had 7 ships in that day. Yikes. Read Less

Excellent. This tour was organised by the cruise ship and involved a trip to some of the notable sights around Skagen. Our guide was informative and helpful. We liked everything but especially the trip to the drifting sand dune and the coast where the North Sea and Baltic meet. A stop-off at a local hotel for coffee and a Danish pastry was a real treat as the staff were so welcoming and friendly. A really memorable day. Read Less

Skagen was very wet and windy, but our excursion was very interesting. Our guide was wonderful, he was local and had wonderful stories to entertain us on our coach ride.

A lovely little town to walk around. Some nice local shops We were lucky with the weather and hired some bikes with a trailer on the front for the children. We cycled to the beach at Grenen and got on the tractor trailer which took us right to the tip. This is where the North Sea meets the Baltic Sea and you can literally stand with one foot in each sea. Highlight of our week in the centre of Danish sea fishing industry. Greeted by local folk singers dockside, then a flat pavements walk of about 15 minutes in to town centre or there was a free shuttle bus. Tourist Office was in town near drop off point and sold bus tickets (50DKK * Euro day pass). Lots of shops and cafes and towards train station there were larger supermarkets such as Netto/Lidl if you need to stock up. I had found the bus times online at home and was more up to date than what the tourist office was handing out. We caught local bus to Grenen and then bought the tickets for the sand tractor out to the point where the seas meet. The bus times didn’t work for us coming back so we walked back from Grenen along normal pavements/cycle route via the lighthouse and old fire beacon, which at gentle amble took under an hour on a glorious sunny and warm day. We hope to return one day and visit some of the other sites such as the buried church and the artist area. Marching bands played us away as we sailed off which was quite emotional with the locals coming down to wave us off; we had a real sense they valued our presence in their beautiful town. Read Less

We took the walking tour in Skagen and enjoyed that very much. Unfortunately, we didn't have any Danish money, and were unable to buy refreshment from a beer stand in the harbor. It was quite warm and would have liked to have been warned that Euros were not acceptable to some Danish merchants. Read Less

Loved this port. Went to Grennen where the Baltic Sea meets the North Sea, stunning beaches. We also saw the buried church/tower, which was interesting. Then we walked around the city. Very small and extremely pretty and clean.
