We took the free shuttle bus into town and hired bicycles for the day to cycle to Grenen, the bunker museum and around town. The day bike hire was £11.21 each, which we thought was very good. It was also great fun. At Grenen we used the Sandormen (30 DKK each) to the point where two seas meet, with the tide coming in. We did not have to wait long to get a Sandormen bus pulled by a tractor once we had parked out bicycles. The bunker museum nearby (40 DKK each) was an interesting visit, again especially for my primary treacher daughter. A pleasant and undemanding day. We found an Alid and stocked up on diet coke and tonic for our mixers. Read Less

Walk the town direct from the cruise terminal. 10 minutes. Best tip if you want to explore is to hire a car for the day. $35. The local Budget car rental office is a tiny franchise - it’s a gas station with about 4 cars to rent, 1/4 mile from the ship. The lady who sells your gas gives you the keys to the car. It took 2 minutes! The best and quickest car rental experience ever. Read Less

We took the Renaissance castle tour. The guide was interesting; but it would have been nice to have also had some time in Skagen itself.

Did it on our own, got bus to Grennan, took tractor ride on the beach, and then had nice lunch in town, really liked the atmosphere.

We walked in our own all morning and had a great time (shopped, ate, enjoyed). Then we went to the further sites on a tour in the afternoon (sand church, which was underwhelming, and the peninsula point where the Baltic and North Sea meet, loved that part a lot, including the old WWII bunkers). The guide was not great (nice man but not dynamic). The part in the city itself (we had already been there) was not great. This was a favorite port and one that is easily done on your own (especially if you like to bicycle). I would have rented a bicycle but my husband wasn't up for that. Read Less

The weather was bad so the captain couldn't dock and we missed the port. I didn't mind though because we had longer in Oslo.

This is a small port town. They happened to be having a music festival which was awesome. We went into town with my aunt with mobility issues and she had a nice time. There places she could sit and rest although the cobblestones were difficult. My husband and I walked over to the beach and saw the point between the North and Baltic seas from a distance. It was a nice day and the people seemed very nice. They said they wouldn’t have another cruise ship for a week which is so different from when we landed in Copenhagen the next day they had 7 ships in that day. Yikes. Read Less

Excellent. This tour was organised by the cruise ship and involved a trip to some of the notable sights around Skagen. Our guide was informative and helpful.
