Again we docked right in town so it was easy to walk and view the shops and restaurants. When the ship was sailing, the local high school marching band came out for a send off. This was a very nice touch.

We walked around the town and really loved the shops and the people. If you are in good shape you can walk into Skagen but we took the bus provided for 500 kroner.

We did the trip to Voegaard Castle. It was about a 45 minute bus ride from the port. Along the way we stopped at the remnants of an old church as well. The castle was filled with not Danish, but mainly French and Chinese artifacts the family had collected. There are dinner settings from Napoleon and Marie Antoinette among the exhibits. Big negative: no pictures inside. Positive: scenic pictures outside. On the way back we stopped at a restaurant for a Danish pastry. My 16 year old loved this tour! Read Less

We just did a long walk to the sunken church. We should have rented bicycles so that we could also have done the meeting of the waters.
