This was a lovely port to explore on your own. It was raining, but we started in the museum where the free shuttle dropped us off and then went to the cathedral, graveyard, and blockhouse before taking the sea walk to the nature park. I loved the huge trees in the Nature Park and it was interesting seeing the site where the fort had been. ...

Sitka was our favorite port! Again, we went out on our own, but the $10 bus to the Raptor Center and Fortress of the Bear was right there where the ship's shuttle into town dropped us. These two things are well worth visiting; a lot of great work is being done there. It would have been nice to have more time there as well. ...

The only bad part of our trip was taking the Lindblad recommended flight into Sitka put us in too late to participate in any of the day 1 activities in Sitka. We really should have been warned that this would be the case as we were cheated out of a day of our trip. ...
