We did the Alaska Raptor Center and Fortress of the Bear excursion. Highly recommend these two attractions. Very interesting and educational with upclose views of wildlife. I was not aware that the excursion included a stop at a restaurant called the Channel Club. This turned out to be one of my personal highlights. We were served a perfectly cooked piece of salmon with a million-dollar view of ...

Bus to the town. Lots of souvenier shops. One alaskan king crab leg was $42!!!!! No thanks. Back to the ship for lunch. This was the only port we got off the ship due to cold and rain in the other ports. Not a good experience. ...

Super cute little town with lots of history. We enjoyed the light rain and walking around town. The Victorian homes and buildings are charming. The Russian history is interesting and even with current events, it was charming partaking in those leftover hallmarks of the culture. Russian dumplings at Sitka Pel'Meni looked delicious, but the line was long and the tables are few so we opted for the ...

We arrived 2 days before our Alaskan Dream cruise on the Baranof Dream. It was wonderful to experience the town without any large ships in port. The Old Harbor Bookstore and coffee shop were fabulous, visited with an artist in the Artist Cove Gallery as we purchased one of her creations. We saw the Sitka National Historic Park, Sheldon Jackson Museum, Baranof Castle site overlooking the harbor ...

We liked Sitka a lot. Took a zodiac boat ride around the waters along with a marine biologist. Had lunch at Fin Lodge, which was a nice stop. The lunch food was so-so. Enjoyed the ships at the pier, which employed very friendly and helpful people. ...

Lovely small town. Did the BBB (Birds, Barnacles and Bears) tour. Really enjoyed seeing the raptors up close. The Fish hatchery/science museum was interesting. Fortress of the Bear was underwhelming, we only say two browns out of five and one far away black our of three. But everyone enjoyed the popcorn! ...

Do your own thing here. Most of the excursions are just things that you can do on your own. There’s some beautiful sites to see but it’s just a quaint little old town. ...
