It was ok, I guess.

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Viva

The cruise was ok. Getting on and off at ports was fairly easy and quick. There was a lot to choose from once you were off the ship. The excursions offered on board were much more expensive than if you just got off and got one of the ones they were selling at the ports. There were not as many activities as we liked on board and their "main" area was not big at all. There were not many bigger pools ...

Beautiful ship, but issues existed...

The Good: Viva is stunning! To quote Titanic, "You could still smell the fresh paint". Everything is new, shiny, and bright. The light aesthetic and decor in the staterooms, make the space look and feel much larger than previous NCL sailings, but still very familiar. The hallways and corridors felt a little larger and the woodwork/trim is just lovely. It looks expensive and well thought ...

Ncl not for foodies

We decide to try NCL to experience the new Prima class ship and want a departure from Puerto rico. Service and entertainment on board are great, drinks are also good main problem is the quality of food in main dining room. We are use to cruise with Celebrity and food on Ncl is not at the same level. The are also a lot of extra to pay, for example to have decent coffee you have to go to Starbuck… ...

Smaller ship - overall experience "meh"

We signed up for this cruise back in 2022 during the COVID-19. Recently returned from this 7-day Caribbean cruise to Tortolla, Barbados, Antilles, St. Lucia, St. Marten and St. Thomas. The ports were beautiful and had small shops, restaurants and bars within walking distance. The VIVA, one of Norwegian's newer ships, holds approximately 3200 passengers. Specialty dining was almost completely ...

We are long-time, seasoned cruisers and have sailed with most major lines. We selected this cruise for a few main reasons: new ship, great stops, leaving from San Juan (as opposed to Fla.) different and interesting. Moreover we had not sailed with NCL for a long time and decided it was time to give them another try. Here are some key points of our experience that I hope may help. The ship is ...

Nice Ship, poor logistics and mediocre service

In summary, nice new ship, service is mediocre, food is ok, extremely long waiting times to eat, Shows and entertainment are not good. Beetlejuice musical, their premier show cancel due to technical problems. Disappointed, will not travel NCL again. Their New Years Eve party below par. For the money there are better cruise lines than NCL. Again will not travel with NCL again. Their specialty ...

We chose this cruise for the itinerary and because we have generally been happy with Norwegian cruises. With the brand new ship we expected more - beautiful ship, elevated dining and service, etc. The facilities WERE amazing, especially the spa and the outdoor areas. Good ship thing: larger bathroom in the cabin. Bad ship thing: hard to find restrooms around the ship - signage was too ...

Let me start by stating this was our 4th NCL Haven cruise.Starting from arrival at the port it was standing room only, they did start taking guests around 1:10PM about 20 minutes early. By 1:45 we were being served soup in the Haven restaurant. It took roughly 4 hours to get our luggage which was partially soaked. To the clothes inside. We left after 10:30PM over 2 hours late. We ...

We were a group of 28 who booked Jan 2022. This was my 4th NCL cruise. Our balcony cabin was beautiful and spacious. The outdoor decks were beautiful with many places to relax. The main dining room, Palomar and Hasuki were amazing. My favorite bar was the Belvedere. But I will be hard pressed to cruise out of San Juan again. If you are from the island this is the ship for you. The Gym was a ...

Premium class without the premium feel

Our friends had booked this cruise so we decided to join. We were excited to be part of Viva’s maiden voyage from its home port. New to NCL, we didn’t know what to expect. All we knew was that this was a premium class ship heading to many ports that we hadn’t experienced before. Let’s start with the bad: The glaring problem with this ship is the lack of space in areas that demand it. Buffet ...
