This was actually SHARM EL SHEIK. I scuba dive'd there so didn't take a shore excursion. We were able to dock instead of tender so it made everything much easier and timely in visiting the port. Really not much there other than resort enjoyment. ...
There is only one reason to dock in Safaga that is to visit the Valley of the Kings/Luxor. It's a long day but worth it. The port itself is a real dirty old dive and that's being nice about it. There is no way you would venture off the ship unless you had a tour booked.

We tendered in to just look around the port, I had read on this website that there wasn't much to do…They were right. Unless you have an excursion, don't waste your time getting off. If you want to "shop" there are some local vendors with stands not far from where the tender docks. The "stores" and "casino" are about a 10 minute walk. ...
