Arrived at 9 am. I took the mini train into Rudesheim but opted out of the guided tour of the Mechanical Music Cabinet. Took the cable car to Niederwald Monument which was free for Scenic guests. Not really an excursion but a wee train took us from the ship into the town. Loved the Music Museum and then a special Rudesheim coffee with brandy - actually I had the hot chocolate option. The cable car ride up to the monument was fantastic with wonderful views over the vineyards and the river. ...
