The cruise terminal was an approx. 10 minute walk to the city. The city was quite small and easy to see all of the sights in the timeframe. Tip - dress nice as most people are dressed well :)

Riga: Amazing architecture all around in the old town, beautiful cafes, intricate details on Art Noveau style buildings (so much better than modern apartments), little markets, and traditional alleyways. Because we docked early in the morning, hardly anyone on the street – perfect photo moments. Beautiful old town that is easy walk from the port, thumbs up. Read Less

Interesting old town. But the combination of uneven cobbles and traffic make it difficult to sight see, as one is constantly looking at where one is going rather than historic buildings.

One of our favorite cities of all time. It has a unique charm; both as a beautiful history city, and it's Latvian, quite unusual for an American, I must say.

we visited this quaint town , on foot. the shuttle arranged by the cruise was a blessing. the only way to see riga is on foot. we did do a segway ride, which was real fun. my parents took a sightseeing car, and they too enjoyed the tour. the small local shops, cobbled streets and little houses add to the charm of the town. it does have its mall and mcdonalds but than fully it is not in the centre of the town, the local flavour has been retained there. A mix of old world and new. You get the medieval nature of the old town, but then it is a very modern place. It really blew us away how you had the two contrasting time periods in the same city, and it just seemed to mesh together effortlessly. This is a city you could spend a lot of time in and enjoying the outdoor bars, cafes, markets, etc... an awesome city that we had no clue about! Read Less

The port and the city are quite far from each other. And the city is not easy for wheelchairs (cobblestone) but we enjoyed what we saw of it. Sadly, the visit of Riga came after that of Tallinn, and hence the difference of development between the two cities is very noticeable. We got to stroll around the old city center and saw a few Art Nouveau buildings, but the majority of Art Nouveau Houses (on Elisabet-alley) were too far away from our collecting point for us (with wheelchair) to get Read Less
