First Royal Cruise/Royally Disappointed

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Adventure of the Seas

Ports of Call! Started in Quebec City and docked in Nova Scotia, Halifax, Portland, Boston and then to Florida. Our Cabin was situated near the elevator which was nice. The elevators however were horrendous. They were doing maintenance on 2 elevators which made it difficult but what made it frustrating was that the other elevators would bypass our floor with one or two people on them. This ...

Joe and I love cruising. We have always been 'Loyal to Royal' and are Diamond Plus--not that it matters, except it is relevant to our experiences on this cruise. It started out well--the air connections the cruise line arranged worked out well, though they were time-comsuming. We got to the airport in Quebec City tired after 17 hours of traveling. We had asked RCI for an airport to hotel ...

Scammed by NCL upgrade bidding process!

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Norwegian Gem

The cruise cost us $4720.90 more than we had planned for due to their faulty, fraudulent and difficult bidding process. We talked to many people at NCL ending with K in the executive offices and got nowhere! All she kept saying was that we bid and that the transaction was binding and irreversible. She said that there was absolutely no one else we could talk to above her! They refused to believe ...

The Royal Princess had good and bad things about it on a Spectacular Itinerary

This was a cruise we have been trying to coordinate, or something like it, for years. It was specifically for the Fall Colors down the St. Lawrence, and the New England Coast leaving Quebec City to Brooklyn, N.Y.. The weather was what we kind of expected. We had, at various times, sun, fog, heavy rain, drizzle, strong wind, calm, dark clouds and one hot day (by the standards of the rest of ...

Disney 2018 Quebec to NYC, Terrible suite, boring excursions, good entertainment

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Disney Magic

I think this must be my second review even though we are world cruisers, for years, and have sailed many different cruise lines. We have a lot of experience with all aspects of a cruise. I have cruised Disney once before to the Bahamas. My perspective is of an adult, and safety for the children. Arriving a day before the cruise at Quebec City, we found it quaint. (We had been there once ...

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Canadian Empress

We chose this cruise due to location and an opportunity to combine it with a stay in the old walled part of Quebec City. The boat is modeled after a river steamboat of the early 1900s and is architecturally interesting. The cabins are tiny with no storage other than three very small drawers [one under one of the bunk beds] and the other two in a small night table, as well as the floor space ...

Fall Foliage

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Adventure of the Seas

View Fall Foliage in Canada and New England areas. There was NO fall foliage. Local guides told us Fall Foliage appears from mid to late October, we were 4-6 weeks too early. embarkation was smooth with no delays. Day 1 had excellent weather sunny and 75-80 degree temps. Day 2 cold, windy, and rain. Windjammer buffet had average tasting food, no variety 95% of the food was the same every day. ...

Not Quite What We Expected

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Adventure of the Seas

We had traveled on Royal Caribbean in 2012 (repositioning cruise from Miami to London), and enjoyed the cruise, very much. This 2018 cruise, we were celebrating my one-year survival and almost no evidence of disease (cancer). On board, the rugs were stained in the halls and our cabin; tablecloths were stained for two meals. Glass windows and portholes were grimey. As obaumlackl wrote, two ...

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Crown Princess

I chose this cruise because of the timing and the itinerary - Quebec City to Ft. Lauderdale. I'm not sure what the issue was exactly but it seemed like we had to stand in line or wait in a dining room for so many events and facilities. Our previous cruise was on Regal Princess with more passengers onboard and we never had that issue. We are on a gluten-free regimen (allergy for me, my wife ...

Menu needs to be revamped

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

Chose this cruise because we had never sailed with Norwegian and thought we would give them a try. Well, never again. The food is deplorable and needs to be revamped with more american choices. The buffet is a go to spot if there is nothing of interest in the free styling restaurants. We did not choose to spend even more money on the restaurants that charge for meals. We bid on an upgraded cabin ...
