Because this was the final destination and we were stopping for five days, we didn't feel a need to do a tour. We were lucky that on the Sunday (we arrived on the Saturday) they were offering free tours of the Citadel, that was really interesting, although very busy. The 1st thing we saw was Montmorency Falls while we were still on the cruise ship (starboard side). The Summit was docked right under the Frontenac Hotel. We took the local bus and got off at the Parliament building, saw the Fountaine de Tourny, the St. Louis Gate in the Ramparts of Quebec City, Plains of Abraham & the Martello Tower, the Joan of Arc statue & gardens, walked down La Promenade ...

Our cruise ship docked overnight in Quebec, just as well as you need this amount of time to look at everything that is on offer here. The port is over-shadowed by the beautiful Chateaux Frontenac, a beautiful castle that is now a 600 room hotel. We jumped on Quebec Tours red bus, which you can buy tickets from vendors on the street. Can take a bit of time to organise, so you can buy tickets ...
