Puerto Vallarta is an excellent port. No tendering is needed; you just walk off the ship. The cruise terminal is across the street from Walmart/Sam's Club and a Galleria shopping mall. It is also right next to - 10-minute taxi ride - the Marina Vallarta, where there are restaurants and shops. Highly recommend. ...
I loved this port and I booked an excursion through Princess Cruise Lines. A boat ride to Yelapa, horseback riding, a hike to a water fall which many of the "old" people could not do which set us back time wise, a boat ride to a beach where we had a great lunch on the beach. I loved this excursion. A nice shopping area in the port where I bought some souvenirs, drank a beer and had a nice time. ...
As it was hot this time of the year, been to all these places before & as just wanted to goof off & recharge, didn't get off at any port beside Porto Vallarta as just a final check before going offline for the longest period of my life so far. ...
We did a private excursion: Taste of Pitillal Food Tour by Vallarta Food Tours 11am-2:30pm $61pp.
This tour is a culinary walking tour through the Pitillal neighborhood. You will not see any other tourist gringos - you are eating where the locals eat! We had 7 stops where we had carnitas taco, carne asada taco, machaca taco, seafood tostada, birria taco, tamal and atole, and ice fruit ...
I stayed on-board. My wife went on a horseback riding excursion that was impacted by the the hurricane that passed through the area. It turned into a tequila drinking ride - she doesn't drink. ...
“Sailing” and snorkel- good excursion, but too long. Snorkeling is better in Cabo. The need to take 90 min to get back to the boat to extend the tour and justify the price, wasn’t needed. ...
I chose the Exclusive Majahuitas Beach Cove experience for this port because I didn't really see any other great beach excursions in the other port and I wanted some dedicated beach time. The weather was iffy in the morning but cleared up later in the day and never got too bad. They took us on a tender to the beach location and the crew was great. Chai was the team leader and introduced the whole ...
We had a GREAT day in this port. With all the things to do and excursions to take, we opted for and all-inclusive at a hotel that was walking distance from the ship. Since we had a long port day here, we certainly got our monies worth out of the all-inclusive.
We used the Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel & Mexican Charm for the day. If your looking for a day pass in this port - DO NOT MISS THIS ...
