There is so much to do here, it is difficult to list them all. One off the wall journey I made was to have a taxi driver take me around to the "off the beaten path" locations. He mentioned to me the alligators that hang our where the fishing boats come in to process their catch. One of the alligator wound up where all of the recreational watercraft are kept, so the driver took me to that location and I got out to see this alligator sitting right in front of me. I was within 10 feet of the thing. Nothing was stopping him from charging at me but he never did. Read Less

We hired a taxi driver for three hours for $100 US. He took my wife and I and my wife’s mobility scooter where we wanted. We visited the cathedral and then we wanted to look at fire opals. He took us to an opal store owned by “his friend”. Some beautiful fire opals but My wife didn’t like any of the settings. He then took us to some shops off the main shopping area, not at the Malecón. We were hungry so he took us to a restaurant on the outskirts of town. We ate upstairs and had a beautiful view of the mountains. The beer was VERY COLD. We then did some drive by site seeing and returned to the ship. We paid for everything with pesos and everything was a little cheaper this way. Read Less

Beware of the ship time as many were very confused by this. It is a 20-30 minute ride to the main tourist area.

We loved Puerto Vallarta and explored it on our own. Bus transportation to and from the marina is cheap, safe, and easy. The Malecon and beach bars are fun!

This was our first time going to the malecon. We had lunch a Pipi's with friends before doing shopping along the beach and finishing up with a drink at the Cheeky Monkey.

Very tropical, reminds me of Honolulu. We took the public bus to the Malecon. (50 cents per person) Dropped off by "the ladder", visited stores, tequila tasted, walked to beach (south). Viewed the church. There is a ton to do in Puerto Vallarta - we had done Eden ATV and zip lining in the past. Rode the bus back to "Walmart/Liverpool". Just waked around to the beach (Malecon) and shopped a bit and then to the Basilica Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It is so beautiful outside and in. Don't forget to look at the church tower, it is a crown being held up by angels! If you are interested, they offer Mass in English on Saturdays in both Spanish and English on Sundays. Not sure of the times though. Don't miss it! Read Less

The nicest of all the ports. You could walk off the ship and take a cab to downtown which was very nice.

Ubered to an all-inclusive beach resort and had a fantastic day with drinks and food included for $50 a person. Also made a quick stop at the Malecon. I've been to PV a lot and knew what to expect. Fun city!

Took a taxi for $20 to the Marriott Resort. EXCEPTIONAL!! They were sold out of day passes, so we just grabbed some towels and hung out at the beach. My husband went to the spa for a massage and hot tub. We had some beers and Pina coladas, along with some really yummy food. The beach was beautiful, and we all had fun swimming in the waves. Would like to return here someday and stay at the hotel for couple nights. Read Less
