My favorite place. Take a cab downtown and walk along the ocean and shop and eat. Make sure if you go for Halloween/Day of the Dead to see all the decorations and altars downtown cab should cost 4 to 5 dollars. Some cab drivers will charge you per person negioate. I paid 5 dollars each way. There are many taxistands in PV. I usually get a cab on the side street instead. Souvenirs are inexpensive. Walmart is across from the ship docking if you forget or need anything. They too have souvenirs. Just beautiful. Read Less

Have been here before so took a taxi down to the Old Town and walked around. Always fun for us.

Not much exciting to do here. We took a cab to the Malecon boardwalk and walked around. There were random dogs walking around and just people selling stuff everywhere so we went back to the boat after buying a few random things.

Went to town, to silver factory store and to fiesta at Don Engracia. Very nice but tour was supposed to be 5 hours long - it was almost 7 and people were exhausted.

we went to the Walmart, enjoyed high speed wifi, then used Uber ride to the Malacon, where we strolled for a few hours, enjoyed the seaside views, tequila tasting and shopping for souvenirs. We took a local taxi back to the ship for $8.

Docked near a Walmart if you were missing something. Vendors portside were interesting if you wanted a souvenir or jewelry. Very hot so that is as far as we got.

Beautiful location. Very humid , and especially moreso on the Isla Rio Cuale with all of the trees. We strolled the Malecon, Rio Cuale, and hung out at Camarones Beach and played in the water/waves with the locals. Rented chairs and umbrella for about $7 US. Had an overpriced cadilac margarita ($15 US because we didn't have pesos or small bills). they gave us1:15 exchange rate at the bar on the beach. Was 220 pesos for this drink...but, it was really good! Read Less

This port was fine, we just found the location of the dock to be less than ideal to get to the "romantic zone". You are basically in the business district near a big mall when you get off the ship (which was nice to walk through), but to get to the more old town area it's a taxi ride. The staff at the port encouraged us to take one of their taxis - DON'T it was a group shuttle that basically refused to drop us off where we actually wanted to go due to traffic. Instead walk to the mall, hop on their wifi, & book an uber for half the price. Read Less

Take it to Zona Romantico if you want to really see the fun parts of the city for shopping or just experiencing life down there. Walk the boardwalk. The streets are a little confusing here though, so just pay attention to where you're going. Read Less

It had been a while since we visited Puerto Vallarta. The pier was within walking distance to a beautiful shopping mall and the area was going through a building phase with lots of new condo's and hotels. Very impressive area.
