When we approached Puerto Montt on February 22nd it started raining. Supposedly it rains there most of the times and the climate supposedly is similar to the Pacific Northwest. Puerto Montt is the hub of the largest salmon aquaculture industry in the world, closely followed by Norway. Not a happy adventure. Long bus ride to a penguin reserve and few if any penguins. Evidently they had left several weeks before. We should have been told. A real negative - took all day and we saw little or nothing and no water was offered. ...
