Loved the excursion to Chichen Itza. We were let off the ship promptly to get to our bus for the long trip. Unfortunately, line cutters were taking down stantions and were mixing with excursion people causing confusion on the pier. I enjoyed the bus ride, the lunch and loved the short, but comprehensive visit to the ruins. We were the last excursion to get back to the ship. Not sure why ...

The free beach is worth a trip! Nice sand, though lots of shells so wear water shoes! Seaweed wasn't too bad, plenty of cleared sand to lay on. We didn't see any sand fleas, ants, or other bugs in January. Vendors walked around but weren't very pushy. Ate at Eladia's bar right by the entrance from the mercado where the shuttle bus drops you off - low prices, clean bathrooms, good food! ...

Felt very safe. Went on our own and had a much better time exploring. Took the double decker bus not offered by Costa and had a great time and a great guide. ...

Never ever go to Progreso. I would have rather stayed on the ship for the day. Dirty and people are constantly trying to sell you something. ...
