The last port was Princess Cays, which is in the south of the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. This was a disappointment compared to the hype about the place. The sea was clear but cold compared to other beaches on the trip. The sea was full of coral rocks, so you need swim shoes to enjoy the water. There is nothing but the Princess resort that you can walk to and it is quite crowded in parts. My advice would be to hire a clamshell as they are located on the quieter parts of the beach. We booked a banana Boat ride, but the staff were the most miserable watersports people I have ever come across. I would not recommend it. If we went back we would probably book one of the tours of the island, as that would have been much more interesting than this pretty but rather dull beach.   Read Less

Last stop Princess Cays. It was okay, just a beach. Food was bbq ribs, fish, chicken, burgers. You can make purchases and use your Princess card.

Princess Quay is a small private beach that belongs to the cruise line. You have to tender out to the island, so we waited till the crowds died down before going ashore. Its a nice beach and they serve a great barbecue buffet for free. I heard a lot of complaining from other passengers about this destination. It is what it is, and it is what is described in the brochure. Don't see why people don't take time to understand where they are paying to go. I found it restful, laid back and beautiful. Read Less

This is just a nice beach day. The water was a little cold, but the sun was shining and we were on the beach for several hours before returning to the ship.

2 out of 5. Vast difference since we were there a few years ago. BBQ lunch was absolutely dreadful. Snorkeling was awful, with very little sea life. We were told that most of the coral is now dead due to swimmers' sunscreen. No coral = no fish. Many more of the "cabanas" now too detract from the island's natural beauty. Beach was clean. Read Less

This port was unfortunately not a good one for us as by the time we arrived at our clam shell, it was raining. We decided not to eat the BarBeQue in the rain, so we headed back to the ship.

Great beaches, excellent kids facilities and well worth it to rent the clam shell for some shade as the sun came out and this being the 1st day in the sun after a long Washington winter, shade was nice! The buffet food wasn't as good as the burgers and dogs on the ship so we waited to eat once we re boarded. I will say that we didn't have to wait in a tender line at all either which was fairly impressive as the ship was full and lots of people were heading out at the same time. Read Less

We weren't terribly excited about this port, but it was a nice beach day. We found there were plenty of loungers available and the lunch was decent - ribs, hot dogs, burgers, chicken breast, cole slaw, corn salad, normal salad. It would have been nice for them to offer iced tea on the island though as the only free beverage was water. We also found out quickly that the Caribbean sun is very powerful, so don't forget sunscreen on your ears! Read Less

The ship has to dock a bit off shore, so you take the small boats in. They had it all run smoothly getting on and off the boats to the island. It was so nice to be the only ship on the island. Plenty of areas and lounge chairs to find a spot on the beach and just chill. We spent most of our time soaking up the sun, but we also spent some time in the water as well. We brought our own snorkeling gear, so we spent some time snorkeling. The water was crystal clear, so we saw some cool fish and coral reef. I can't forget to mention the wonderful lunch they served us there. Barbecue style with incredible fresh pineapple, watermelon and cantaloupe. We dished ourselves up and ate on our lounge chairs. We checked out some of the shops, but wasn't too impressed to buy anything at that point in our trip. We hung around the island taking in the great music this group was playing. We were probably one of the last boats to head back to the ship. Great first port on the trip! Read Less

Princess Cays was beautiful, but bypassable. Just one more port for Princess. The Cattle Call to the BBQ was a funny touch, but I could have admired it from the boat just as easy.

Getting ashore was pretty easy for us as we had preferred tender tickets due to our suite and the fact that we had signed up for a "shore excursion". We rented a couple of the private cabanas for the eight of us and had lunches delivered to us. This was very nice. It was a relatively quiet area -- maybe too quiet as we probably would have liked to hear the music in the background. If we had been alone, we probably would have gotten a beach clamshell but the cabana was nice -- providing some shade and even air-conditioned. All in all, Princess Cays was a great, relaxing time on the beach! Read Less

Tip #1: bring your passport or ID with you (not just your cruise card) when coming to Princess Cays. You'll need it if you want to visit the little local shops just behind the "Princess Cays" area. Tip #2: the lunch was good but remember that it isn't open indefinitely. I think it closed around 1pm - so get it while the getting it good. We tendered to the port which wasn't a big deal. We snorkeled in front of the beach which was pretty good - not the best, not the worst of our trip. It rained on and off while we were there so that dampered the "beach day" that Princess Cays is supposed to be. We had reserved two kayaks but they cancelled all the water sports because the winds were quite high. They refunded everyone's money for the water sport reservations. It wasn't very warm at all, air or water - it isn't that far South. Probably my favorite thing we did was take a walk farther along the beach. I found lots of sand dollars - alive and dead - along in the tide pools. Overall it was fine, but due to the rain most everyone left early. Read Less
